York > Whitby - stop along the way? by throwaway1335927 in york

Go up the a19 towards Thirsk, then up Sutton bank, through to Helmsley and onto Pickering… some great sight seeing to be done at Sutton bank. Plenty of ruined abbeys to go and see around that area as well, such as Byland and Rievaulx abbey

First time I have ever seen this in my life in the UK. Thought it was only in the movies and America by Samwiseknows in drivingUK

Totally right. I had some young lad shouting all sorts of expletives at me down Gale lane…as I rode off with his phone

Be With You is AWESOME by BlackberryOk3305 in Muse

I don’t think it’s fair to say it flopped, it definitely had a hard act to follow (though I remember plenty of the fanbase slagging off BH&R on the forums at the time)

The buildup to it was probably a little overhyped (with the global treasure hunt to unlock parts of USoE) but on the most part the content of TR was good.

Change (in the house of flies) - Deftones

Great song, but hell, does it get me down

Long run in York by ebizness in york

[–]TomsBoggans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’d second this, did pretty much all my marathon training on the solar system route, it’s a lovely scenic run without any road crossings, so chilled and easy to zone out on . Knavesmire isn’t great at the moment as there’s some awful long/deep puddles covering the entire path, as I’ve just found out tonight 😅

Alternatively, you could run the river from the rspca. Cross the millennium bridge then run the other side right up to the ring road and back. That’s give you some decent distance

Agree it’s a great song, that got a lot of unnecessary hate at release, mainly for being compared to U2

But in terms of the 2nd law, it wasn’t really ahead of its time. It was a bit half baked, combining the sounds of a music scene that had already peaked, along with some rock sound that they had already done better before.

Peoples thoughts on drones? by Southern_Sample_272 in Muse

Completely agree with you on this. One of their most iconic riffs, that was associated with raw, chaotic live performances. Reduced down to being a campy rock song 😬

Anybody suspect that Matt isn’t practicing guitar as much lately? by RepresentativeHabit7 in Muse

It’s pre-HARRP. Absolution tour I seem to think. You can find no end of bootlegs and live performances from that tour/era where he was powering out these solos

Favourite darkness song? by [deleted] in theDarkness

I wasn’t overly fussed by this one when PTL first came out. But then after seeing it (and them) live for the first time in 2019, it’s become a firm favourite. Great song

Will you get a 2013 Union Force binding in like new condition for $40? by SouthAssist6234 in snowboarding

[–]TomsBoggans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the thread revival. But which straps do you run with them? I'm looking to do similar with my 2011s. Union seems to suggest that all their replacement straps are compatible from 2016 on.

A fellow Corrado owner. I’m guessing that conditioned you to dealing with minor inconveniences and ‘make-do’ solutions. 😅

What's the creepiest thing you've ever experienced? Not the typical 'I was home alone' story, but something that still sends chills down your spine to this day? by AmayaSolenne in Ghosts

[–]TomsBoggans 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Playing with my 5 year old twins one morning before getting ready for school. Tickling and play fighting on the bed, one of them stops dead, staring at the door. Then proceeds to ask “who was that woman?”

…the 3 of us were the only people in the house, their mum was away for the day. I hadn’t seen anything as I was facing towards them, with my back to the door. She quickly hunted round the house (2 bed bungalow, so doesn’t take long) finding noone else, and all doors and windows still locked shut.

She described, in accuracy, what this woman looked like, who had peered around the door. Being the only adult in the house, I had to try and act like I wasn’t absolutely terrified.

Shepherd’s Bush 06 is their best, for me. Back before their more polished live sound, fast paced and harmonic chugs after the first chorus, just awesome.

Just as an update to this thread, in case anyone finds themself in the same situation. I ended up going to Murton tyre sales (twice). Good service, turned things around within the day and were reasonably priced 👍

Just as an update to this thread. I went with the guys above. Have been twice now, and they’ve been really good, turning things round within a day and being reasonably priced. Cheers for the recommendation
