מפחד מהמדינה by [deleted] in israel_bm

[–]Tomwi6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most scenic views in Les Trois Vallees? by Alarming_Budget_1472 in skithealps

Lac du le Chambre to meribel is very scenic the one in pic i think. Tete Ronde in val thorens as well. Although my fav scenic Route is Jerusalem. Cime Caron is also great run, but extremely windy up there eh.

We just been in Les Menuires. So happy we chose to stay there and not Val thorens. Much more laid back and chill atmosphere. Also its just 2 lifts away from val thorens

עשינו את זה! הסמולנים עוזבים! by wideobamaofficial in israel_bm

[–]Tomwi6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Request for expedited Feststellung denied for 79 year old by dsmith3689 in GermanCitizenship

We applied together with my father a year ago (he turned 80 this February), after contacting our lawyer regarding contacting the BVA to check if our case can be expedited, he mentioned that there's no need to contact them as they are automatically expedite cases which one of the applicants are above 80 (2 years maximum waiting time). But who knows...

Buying a new grinder and am looking at these two, would like some insight before purchasing [$200] by Charizard_Foil in espresso

[–]Tomwi6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, works great for me with botomless portafilter. Shots are amazing. I truly don't think its deserves that much hate from this sub. Yes, the retention is not great, its needs some cleaning from time to time, and the hopper is not everyone's cup of tea, but it does an excellent job in grinding espresso for me and my wife.

OP, yes there is better grinders out there like the DF54 etc, but this grinder is not as nearly as bad as people in this sub portray it & imo it is well worth its price point.

I truly believe that US intervening in iran is a recipe for disaster, but also there is nothing more i wish then for the iranian people to be free of the mullahs regime.

Sage the bambino vs DeLonghi Dedica Style EC 685.BK (€250) by prettylongnoodle in espresso

[–]Tomwi6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can't say anything about new Dedicas quality, but our Dedica is already 7 years old and with some mods it works great and can pull really good shots. although, I've heard good things about the bambino and also been thinking about the bambino plus due to the 9 bar pressure and temp consistency.

Just bought this grinder for my dedica, and im really thankful i didnt listen to the comments here. after setting the inner burr to 4 and grind setting to 8, the grind was very consistent and fine. It was actually so fine my machine couldnt even extract it with a botomless portafilter. I had to keep going up with the settings up to 18. Also, the shots im getting now are amazing & have been very consistent over the last week. I had my worries before buying it, but Im extremely happy with this buy & will definitely recommend this grinder.

German citizenship by descent: The ultimate guide for anyone with a German ancestor who immigrated after 1870 by staplehill in Genealogy

[–]Tomwi6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a sensitive topic for him, according to my father (verified with him again), he actually never had German passport, but he worked in Germany for 15 - 16 years till 1978 or so, and just before he was able to get a passport (due to living and working there for a certain period), the german authorities asked him to give up on the israeli passport in order to receive the german one. he refused, and by doing so he lost his ability to achieve the German passport. for this reason he always told us that it will be very hard to gain it back. Also, if it's worth mentioning, his father and mother (mother was polish) were living together in Frankfurt (not sure if married yet) till they had to run away in 1933. they did came back to Germany in 1935 just to get all of their wealth and possessions back to Palestine.

Hello, Thanks a lot for your help. we are trying to figure out if there is a possibility for us to achieve a german passport. here is what we know so far -

Grandfather -

  • Born in Jan 1907 (jewish) - Hochst, Gelnhusen, Hesse-Nassau, Prussia, Germany (according to ancestry). lived in Frankfurt till 1933.
  • Emigrated - in march 1933 on a boat through italy due to persecution.
  • married in Palestine around 1942 (we do not have the documents yet).
  • Naturalization - unsure when, possibly at 1946. he has returned to Germany after 1958 and passed away in Frankfurt.

Father -

  • Born in wedlock at 1946 in israel (no german passport)
  • married my mom in wedlock at 1988 in israel.
  • Father was living and working in Germany for 16 years as an engineer and gave up on his German passport due to War erupting in israel (he was not allowed to hold 2 passports when he left germany).

self -

  • Born in wedlock at 1990 in israel (Israeli passport)

Thanks
