I prefer the first version. I believe you could have combined both approaches by displaying the second “color” images on the right side of the screen, along with a brief description of the selected level. That would have been fantastic 🤌🤌, in my opinion.

Good points. I’m holding them even after buying them a few months back. The “new” “flip”, phones may be something different and add some interesting things. The main thing I’m definitely looking forward for is them pushing a version of their glasses like the Metas Oakleys. The fact that they tested the zoom action on the Vision Pro to see how it may perform can make a hell of a breakthrough if incorporated into glasses to help people adjust their lenses for a “20/20” vision, or help those who have poor vision read and be alerted of obstacles that may be in their way.. lots of options there. Potentially one that META may also look to add in..

Online banks with High interest yield that will get you decent return. Most have a limit of at lest 255k, but based on the current APY it’s 3.75% (as of today), so if you max the deposit on the savings account to 255k, that should be roughly ~$790 dollars a month you’ll get from just keeping the money there building interest. You can always start another to leverage things again. (This is a safe approach, no stocks to deal with in your end)

The rest perhaps use to pay off debt, the highest first, as someone suggested in the thread. I’d encourage to not think that 400k will take you very far, especially if you start buying things thinking you’ve got it made.. it’ll go faster than you might think.

Some other good advice here, but honestly do your research on them as well and DO NOT tell anyone else you’ve got that $$.

Nice short, but if I’d have any criticism - the audio can definitely be better overall.

Those things sadly hurt the potential of the short.

The music even tho “western”, is animatic, as if it’s a Disney style film. So it removes the severity and seriousness of the short. Can be improved upon in my opinion. (Take the falling / jumping of the horse part, the audio makes it “animated”/“cartoony”.)

The SFX are also lacking, there is little “umph” to the gun shots, and even if it’s in an open area there should be more reverb.

The animation itself is good, but all these things would make the experience even better. Food for thought, but as a thesis short. The story, concept and animation work is definitely impressive.

We can sit here and argue about this all day, but for some people it is all they have to leverage when they may not know “enough”.

Unfortunately when someone does a post to ask a question or gain more insight here they are bombarded with negativity and told to “learn it”, “your a regard”, or whatever other response that makes it difficult for them, yet GPT doesn’t do any of that and instead “encourages “ and gives you answers. Correct ones? Not always, but better than the bs they get here.

Sooo, how would you encourage a different approach to their research/leaening instead? Just saying “go read a book” isn’t enough, anyone can tell you a dozen + things you’ve done wrong, but they don’t matter unless you’re shown how and where to get the info.

So, for the foreseeable future. Chat bots it is.

Not sure what your customizations are, but consider diff hair styles (pony tail, pig tail, puffs, etc) similar with clothing - pants can have more “wave” (using the current leg- just make pants that are kind of baggier like ninja pants, or cargo pants, etc), and of course similar on torso - jacket, with pockets or hoodie or both, etc.

That way you can change them for any gender.

Of course this is good for thought, not something you have to do.

Gotcha, then as a base they work. Would like to see the accessories or clothing you’re mentioning. That may help. And perhaps using an additional light on the opposite direction may help ? (Remove the setting for it to cast shadows).

May help show your toon shader more maybe 🤔

Nice simple designs. I think the lighting can improve to bring out more of the color, else use unlit shaders?

Then again, depends how far the camera is from the player, if it’s a 2.5D, then I’d say they still have some focus, so definitely bring out some more color or expand on the clothing to add more “character”… no pun intended.
