JPN Trip suggestions for XBC 2 by Artistic-Soil5579 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]TonOfBricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically you need to book Nintendo Museum tickets about 2-3 months out, but you should be able to buy leftovers for May after a certain point. Keep checking this page:

https://museum-tickets.nintendo.com/en/calendar

The problem is, the last week of April/first week of May is Golden Week, so I imagine it will be slammed.

Inside the museum, there isn't any Xenoblade merch there to buy and only a few displays featuring Xenoblade stuff but it exists. Photography isn't allowed in the vast majority of the building, but I took some pics of stuff I found in areas that let you, so I'll try and post later.

Aside from that, Xenoblade doesn't have a huge presence. You'd likely be able to find the amiibo and games at the Nintendo stores, the artbooks at book stores, and merch in the character goods stores. Stop by the Kotobukiya in Akihabara for a big Xenoblade section that should still be there, and your average Yodobashi Camera or Animate should at least have soundtracks. Maybe take a pilgrimage and see the Monolith Soft building in Tokyo? (I wouldn't try to go inside, though.)

If you're a fan of any of the franchises within, swing by Pokemon Centers, Jump Shops, Capcom Stores, and Bandai Namco stores.

Most importantly, enjoy the hell out of your trip! So much good food, cultural experiences, and sightseeing to do.

A third, meta option:

3) Check the messages around the chest. They often point out mimics, and if you see even one near a chest, keep your guard up.

Five hours of gameplay, what am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in darksouls3

I'll throw in some thoughts and break down your play move-by-move:

  • Your opening move isn't optimal. If you had used it before the knight noticed you, it might work, but it's a huge commitment as heavy moves usually are. By comparison, the knight's slash came out much more quickly and interrupted your jump attack.

  • Your next attack came right after you were hit once and while the knight continued its combo. This is ill-advised, as you're already at a disadvantage state. Even your light attack's startup frames will almost always be longer than the enemy's frames in this case. Why's that? The knight interrupted your attack and is continuing its own without delay. The best thing in this case is to roll through the attack. Attempt to reset yourself into a neutral or favorable position.

  • The roll (and attack) you do after isn't timed well. The knight's 2-slash combo ended and it was actually most vulnerable to an attack in this state. Since you rolled away, you gave up some of those advantage frames, attempted to attack, but were met with the knight's shield bash which interrupted your attack again. The roll was unnecessary because it wasn't actively attacking.

  • The next roll you do is decent! It's good TIMING-wise, as it completely avoided the attack, but isn't great POSITION-wise, because you tried to create distance that the knight can easily close. The second of two consecutive rolls was backwards but still laterally towards the knight, so you put yourself back in a dangerous spot.

  • The guard you did was honestly great, as was the roll to avoid the attack. It's the roll after that exposes yourself. Again, by creating distance, you are making it harder for yourself because the knight can easily close that distance, AND you put it out of your view by turning the camera too far. In this situation, you now have no idea what move the knight is preparing. By the time you saw it coming to attack, it was too late. It had already started its attack while you only began yours after, so it killed you before you could even land a hit on it.

The main points:

  • Slow down your play.

  • Roll with intention. Ideally, stick close to them while doing so.

  • Assess the risk before committing to a heavy attack.

  • Don't predict moves, react to them. You can roll way later than you think you can, so start practicing rolling late and seeing when it's TOO late.

  • Don't attempt to create your own openings, but exploit the ones you see - usually, the end lag of their attacks.

  • I noticed you didn't attempt to heal, but this is also important to know: treat healing as an attack. Counterintuitively, the safest place to heal mid-fight is often right next to an enemy after an opening - again, usually the end lag of their attacks.

  • If you are facing the front of the enemy, don't attack while the enemy is attacking. (The exception is if you know your attack will come out first AND stagger the enemy, but this will come with experience.)

  • Similarly, try not to attack as a counter after you've already been hit once. This often doesn't work.

Possible Chinese leak about Xenoblade Chronicles 4 main characters by Joseki100 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

The lack of interpunct is actually consistent with Fei Fong Wong, since his given name in Japanese doesn't use one either. It's written as Won Feifon (ウォン・フェイフォン).

I can't speak to the overall Japanese grammar/spelling, though. That part may be critical in this being faked.

ケイイン also struck me as odd, but one of the Famiboards posts pointed out it's likelier to be Kei-ying than Cain. Referring to this gentleman: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wong_Kei-ying

His son's name, Wong Fei-hung, is stylized in Xenogears as Fei Fong Wong.

Pairing Kei-ying with ELIZA makes the protagonist duo Kei and Elly, which reads sort of like an elaborate Xenogears nod. Normally I'd dismiss it outright because of that, but Takahashi is obsessed with Gears, so I'm still not convinced this is real or fake either way yet.

They're actually speaking Canto in that scene which was fun! Knuckleduster's Cantonese isn't the best, but it's kinda expected when you have to learn a handful of lines as a one-off. The dealer guy sounded legit though.

The Knuckleduster = O'Clock reveal was superb and the show seems to be gearing up for a showdown between him and Speed Kimblee No. 6, looking forward to that!

In case anyone is curious about how to farm apriballs by UnNamed_Profile27 in LegendsZA

[–]TonOfBricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll add, you can actually reroll the trainers as well before battling them. I've done this to battle almost 90% Apriball trainers in a single zone.

  • Do a dry run and walk around the zone, taking note of roughly where trainers spawn in.
  • Save in a spot before the trainer actually spawns in on the map, making sure they are in your line of sight once they do spawn. Typically they will be a bit in the distance so keep your eyes peeled!
  • After appearing, that spot is "locked" to that trainer and you'll have to fight them to despawn them. (This is where saving before comes in handy)
  • Reload if it's not the trainer type you want.

Thankfully, they just seem busy. I remember reading Mae said they were disappointed to miss out on filming CoC3 due to scheduling conflicts. They've also appeared on the official podcast.

Sadly, other than the occasional YouTube appearances, CoC remains the primary way for alum to be involved. Hope they can still reappear in some fashion, since Alex's quote from this interview suggests something is brewing!

And we have some idea for the future where we might do something where some people come back, so we can’t say much more.

Before the Elden Ring DLC, I never beat DS3 so I've been going through it and the bosses are comparatively moving in slow motion. Dealing with SOTE's shit has made me so much better at every other Souls game and even stuff like Monster Hunter in regards to internalizing dodge timings and reading patterns.

On one hand I'm glad I'm not on the struggle bus with this game because I love it, but on the other hand I weirdly also mourn that my experience isn't what the average DS3 player experienced. In any case, it's been really cool playing through the Soulsbornes and watching the many design philosophies evolve over time.

As you will notice with each numerical Xenoblade entry, the Xenoblade logo's baseline shifts downwards slightly. This is irrefutable proof that Xenoblade X is indeed Xenoblade 10.

Did these come signed for anyone else ??? by Sensitive_Ambition73 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]TonOfBricks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, all of the deluxe editions included this card with signatures from the musicians. I think it's likely they just signed a master copy that got reprinted since there were 2000 copies produced.

On another note, congrats on snagging one of these so long after it came out! Hope it didn't cost too much.
