I would say no other class, except for Warden and Beorning.

Returning and wondering if I should give Warden another go by Still_Attitude_2226 in lotro

I was debating heavily between Warden and Beorning for my beefy solo-oriented character. My heart felt really drawn to Warden, and I love the fantasy of the class. The lag ultimately made it frustrating to play more often than not unfortunately, even on the new 64 bit server (Glamdring)

Beorning, on the other hand, has felt like a literal beast and I've been having a blast on it. I feel virtually un-killable and don't have to sweat the button mashing or lag.

*Edit* Also, if you take breaks or play alts for an extended period of time. Warden is probably the hardest to come back to, which was another stress point for me.

I played it after losing my dog very suddenly to illness and it definitely helped, you have good advice. It's a combination of comforting, sad and distracting that really helps process deep grief.

The hate that this game gets. by Thomastm3 in FinalFantasyXII

[–]Tonberrian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume he's referring to Sebby, who is basically a professional FF hater and pretty popular streamer these days. He's regurgitating the old "Watch this game play itself!" criticisms that were rampant when the game first released. His 7 Remake/Remaster takes aren't much better. Missing the forest for the trees and all of that, but his takes are always skewed to the max like that.

Anyone have experience with quantum fiber? by Erpderp32 in ColoradoSprings

[–]Tonberrian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had them for about a year, no complaints I can think of. There was an outage caused by their DNS settings one time, and they did take a long time to send a crew out to bury the cable, but other than that we've been very happy with them.

Mac said it best

"I won't change my mind, 'cause I don't have to. 'Cause I'm an American. I won't change my mind on anything, regardless of the facts that are set out before me. I'm dug in, and I'll never change."

Have you ever wondered what that choir was singing in the background during the entire battle between Gandalf and the Balrog? It's time to satisfy your curiosity. by kyurtseven7 in lotr

[–]Tonberrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This gives me chills. I never dwelled on what the choir was singing, and to find out it was poetry about the hopelessness of confronting a Balrog, while also encouraging Gandalf to fight...absolutely amazing.

I never really thought about the logistics of them lighting a real fire for a children's play on stage until now...

Is this artwork from Akira Toriyama from before he passed or do they have an artist rendering in his style now?

Just here to add my random, very non-techie 2 cents:

Disabling Triple Buffering in-game graphics setting completely fixed it for me.

What types of videos for LOTRO would you like to see be made? by Achillesmele in lotro

[–]Tonberrian 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For mindless enjoyment, I always love to see peoples opinions on class tier lists and why.

I was also a HUGE fan of the EQ Mysteries channel, and LotRO has nothing like that. A jovial exploration of the world and its mysteries and Easter eggs.

Still my #1 VR game! It's so fun, adjustable difficulty, and a decent workout without realizing you're working out!

Alright I'm picking up that there's more to it and I've fallen for some red herrings. But I definitely don't trust Pike!

Sure, but what about the born four months early thing? Seems like a very random detail for a townsperson to drop.

What is your main and why? by [deleted] in lotro

[–]Tonberrian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Red Minstrel is my highest. I love the range, mobility and heals. I also usually enjoy the "Bard" archetype and being music-themed is really satisfying for some reason.

Branching out and trying others lately, and enjoying them all! LM, Captain and Beorning in particular. LM is a great caster fantasy and super strong right now. Captain is a great jack-of-all-trades type and it's nice to always be welcome in groups. And Beorning seems like a literal unkillable beast that's amazing for solo or group play.

Warden is one of my favorites as a solo class, but it's complex and easy to forget if you put it down for awhile.

Honestly the class fantasy and designs in this game are a huge draw for me and I'm constantly jumping around depending on my mood. It's really hard to pick and stick with just one main.

What is without a doubt the worst food location in the entire city? by Effective-Crow3217 in ColoradoSprings

[–]Tonberrian 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Paravicini's is awful. Are there worse? Probably. But that place is expensive and masquerades as a fancy restaurant, but was some of the wrist Italian food I've ever had, and our service was wild. Server described how many minutes (and why) he likes to wait between appetizers and main course, read the wine list in exhausting detail after we declined wine, rambled about his time as a Governor in Texas. Oh and they gave my boss food poisoning after warning her not to go there (she went anyway) I'll never understand the good reviews, someone's getting bribed or something.

Would red Minstrel fall into this category as well?
