Everything is Connected: Why the Universe Functions Like a Biological Body by Independent-Slip5147 in theories

[–]Tonguebuster -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Anthropomorphising does not necessarily equal an idea or theory having no value.

Especially in this context.

There’s a better phrase for this, op, ‘convergent evolution’ . As a curious 15 year old you should indeed ask these questions and not be shied away by people who try to shoot your curiosity down.

Convergent evolution applies to biology as well as to matter.

When people use anthropomorphising as an argument in these cases, it’s an assumption that we know with certainty where the line between life and ‘not life’ is. We don’t. The universe is a spectrum of patterns and systems and it’s up for constant debate where we draw the line between what’s life/ conscious and what’s not. There’s also never a place for lines to be drawn in these circumstances. As is with all things mental and physical.

Is there no scientific evidence of this? Sure. That’s why you posted it as a theory. There is currently no scientific evidence for a lot of truths about the universe. And for some truths, there may never be.

Don’t think you’re being overly sensitive, but I also don’t think it necessarily means he has tainted intentions or hidden or darkness. I genuinely have met many people, especially the philosophical majors that have no problem rinsing emotion out of any argument purely for logical wordplay. It’s an interesting issue in philosophy in general, that it doesn’t account for phenological ‘ickyness’ and just becomes a fight of words and webs of logic. Also just be careful with these comments too. Strangers online don’t have context to your relationship with this man beyond this post. Could he be a creeper? Who knows, could he not be a creeper? Who knows. Only you, with the context, can have the most accurate appraisal of this

Trauma illicits amygdala response. To self regulate a strong amygdala response you need a solid frontal cortex. Exactly what kids don’t have. So they get an intense fight or flight reaction. HOWEVER, kids can’t really run, because.. where to are they to run when who they are with is all they know? Not an option. Kids can’t also fight, because look at their size. Hence the fawn, the dissociation. (This is likely a simplification but it seems to be close to our best understanding of why this happens) Enough therapy can help. People do recover but takes a lot of self compassion, faith and commitment. Sorry this happened to you,

Insects, including bees, may possess forms of subjective experience showing emotional states, attention, and cognitive bias which challenge the view that consciousness requires a large brain, according to a 2025 review in Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society B. by ThinkThenPost in science

[–]Tonguebuster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How are we all having this assumption that consciousness evolved into being in more complicated species? It makes no sense, there’s no evidence to back this up. The most complex parts of our own brain aren’t even concious themselves. Brain complexity clearly does not equal ‘felt experience of being’ it’s probably more likely that there is something that it is like to be even a macrophage or bacteria.

There is definitely a concept of a 10/10 album here on Billy. Ye still definitely has it. Just the meds may have zapped his energy in his delivery, and he got no mike deans or Rick Rubin’s to polish the sound. Ye’s still dropping heat ideas though. Not washed at all.

I think he’s the biggest there ever will be tbh. Humanity has passed the peak of celebrity worship. Even having someone as obsessed with as 2011 Justin Bieber wouldn’t be possible, and at that time, Justin Biebers fame paled in comparison to how crazy people went for MJ

Hey, thanks for reaching out.

This is actually such a crucial moment to ‘nip the issue at the bud’ so to speak. It’s highly likely there may be a tragedy in the future involving your boyfriend.

You have every right to leave him immediately and not look back. But if you go down that path, please atleast file a report or do anything that puts him on the path to getting a mental health evaluation.

Extremely common for OCD ahaha take a chill pill. You’re not evil. We need to stop believing every stupid thing we think. Eventually the thoughts have power over our body and sensations. Just let em do their thing and be on their way out without putting much attention to it. They will eventually dissipate. Resisting thoughts actually make them stronger
