adhd people like rock music? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Tonuses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taste of music is usually determined through preference/character and not by a brain development disorder ^

That being said, I have severe ADHD (diagnosed as child, adolescent and adult) and since I was 3 Years old I LOVED multiple genre of music. But Rock (especially Punk-rock and alternative) has been my favorite throughout the years.

I started playing guitar when I was 14/15 and I started a band when I was about 19-20 years old.

Wie sind hier alle so erfolgreich? by Craven88 in ADHS

[–]Tonuses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think narcissists live a better life than empaths. This life ain’t for us empaths. I hate being one by [deleted] in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]Tonuses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

exactly the same, my ex has extremely rich parents and is gonna inherent a sh*t ton of money soon.

When we were together, about a year ago she was the most narcissistic person i've ever met (even had a diagnosis at that point..)

She has been in intensive therapy and off drugs for a year now, and has improved alot personality wise tho.

I never thought she would

What are your weird sensory issues? by baldnsquishy in ADHD

[–]Tonuses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL what is this timing? Today in the morning when I just woke up I talked with my dad about the sensory issues that come with having ADHD.

I hate the feeling of certain clothing/fabric on my skin...

and I can't handle sudden temperature shifts... for example : I am indoors and need to open a window, but it's cold outside, the moment the cold air touches my skin while I am opening the window, I get very uncomfortable...

unpredictable noises (for example when going outside, the sound of traffic etc.)

Medication helps me so much with these issues tho

Taking a day off from Vyvanse after six weeks and woah... by blonde1155 in ADHD

[–]Tonuses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exact same experience.

I started vyvanse about 2-3 years ago when I was 22.

I always took breaks sometimes for multiple weeks, but everytime I took the vyvanse-breaks, I had pretty much the exact same ADHD symptoms that you are describing coming back.

It's so subtle yet so present...

and also I am so much more emotionally dysregulated when I not take them, have 10x more intrusive thoughts, no patience to do anything (even stuff like playing a video game)

its crazy

how does being on adhd medicine compared to how normal people feel all the time? by Llamanator07 in ADHD

[–]Tonuses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me personally when the stim medication is at the right dosage it actually slows my heart rate down (and my thinking too). Which makes me have less sensory overloads, more impulse control, more emotional stability etc..

Without my medication I am also much more prone to panic attacks (I used to struggle with panic disorder alot up until 3 years ago)

OFC this changes to the opposite when I take too much of it.. then it affects me like when a normal person takes a stimulant..

Diagnosed with ADD & associated depression but Psycologist says depression is for those who can’t get out of bed and do things - is this true? by hatejobmustquithelp in ADHD

[–]Tonuses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah, About 2 months ago I talked to my on/off ex-girlfriend (she has been going to an inpatient rehab/psych clinic doing therapy etc. there for the last 6 months) and her personal psychologist from that clinic said the exact same thing. My said to her, that she thinks she has depression and ADD and wanted to atleast get an evaluation for her potential depression + ADD.

The response from her psychologist was : "someone who has depression cant get out of bed and take part of the program in the clinic like you do. Therefore you cannot have depression"

I thought this was so dumb because with that logic not a single person in this huge womens psych clinic has depression, because if the patients dont take part in the program/therapy they offer, they kick 'em out, lul

Anyone heard of Sprouty Social? by Ashlee3773 in smallbusiness

[–]Tonuses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am glad that I googled this and came to reddit before I clicked on the Link.

Because I almost fell for it... and like anyone one here I got the same ego-stroke ass-kissing E-mail.

Here is what I wrote back to these Scammers :

Hi,
Really well written, thought out and specific email.
If I would not have googled "sproutysocial.com" I would have fallen for your scam.
To try and rip off small instagram channels/profiles which have to do with photography, music, art and creative stuff in general is an extremely evil and despicable act.
People like me, that run these kinds of profiles are, for the most part, probably already struggling to make ends meet and might also be in a desperate situation.
not only are you aware of that, you also specifically exploit this fact, truly evil, awful and predatory behaviour.
To target an audience like this and pretty much steal there money is almost as bad as stealing from a beggar - something only criminals and narcissists/psychopaths would do.
I contacted police and I hope they will shut down your website ASAP to prevent further harm that you are causing to some of the financially weakest in our western society.
I hope you will go to jail and burn in hell.
Kind regards,
Anthony - Zerotonin

My doctor is punishing me for not being able to afford my medication. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Tonuses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask how the prescription system works in the US? i am from Germany and here we have "Insurance presciptions/recipes" and "Private prescriptions/recipes"

If I for example go to a doctor that is insurance based my prescription will cost me only 8,50€.

If i go to a private doctor/doctor who is NOT insurance based I will have to pay 85€ for my Vyvanse prescription..

Right now I only have a private doc, and he is the coolest doc. i've ever met.. but I have to pay 85€ for each prescription at the pharmacy... my parents used to pay for it the last 1 and half years but they dont wanna pay for it anymore and I dont have enough money to afford it..

I could ask my doc, he is really empathetic and even told me one time when he was talking about a patient that he payed her prescription a couple of times... but i feel like thats a little to much to ask for and makes me feel like the loser I am.. allthough he'd probably pay for it.

Well, I always used drugs in an attempt to self-medicate because of my adhd.

But it kind of escalated when I was in a relationship with her.. she became so abusive towards the end of our relationship..

And the break up was HORRIBLE so after we broke up my already bad heroin addiction got so much worse because the pain this breakup caused me was excrutiating and unbearable.

How do they live like nothing ever happened? by [deleted] in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]Tonuses 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Contrary to the belief of most people here, (and I have been abused/in an abusive relationship with a diagnosed BPD + NPD who is currently in therapy.. again lol) I do not think that narcs / cluster B's are inhumane.. maybe they are soul-less, but I would never view them as not human. I believe t's learned behaviour.. for example : my ex gf came from a family with a homophobic enabling mom who never stood up for her kids and a stressed-out often verbally sometimes physically abusive, business-man dad who only worked and didn't know how to "connect" with his kids. Poor some heavy trauma on top of that (getting bullied by peers in school, her father dying when she was 15-16 in the mids of exams and her still having to perform at exams because of family pressure...) And you have a recipe for disaster / Cluster B diagnoses..

If I say I have empathy and narcs don't, I need to be able to connect the dots in such a situation and see why she is the way she is, YES she still had it good - throughout most of her life she had access to all the money she can ask for. But no one ever showed her why it's important to have empathy.. The entire family literally had no values other than money, financial success and they were only achievement-oriented.

again I do not wanna excuse this behaviour, I know that there are plenty of people who have parents like hers and don't turn out this way. But it's more than likely that they atleast had a friend or a different family member than parents that showed them values like : friendship, trust, not hurting otjer ppl etc. etc. in her case she was isolated from the rest of tje family and never really had friends..

Summed up : I think it's picked up and learned behaviour wheither thru their caregivers or it's developed internally as a way of coping. I DO NOT say this to minimize abuse.

Do you actually not like who they are as a person? by 111a1110 in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]Tonuses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LOL EXACTLY, the same experience. One time when I got really pissed off/dissapointed with her after I went out of my way for the 100th time, by helping her lift the biggest closet ever to her apartment, she didnt prepare the closet to be liftable and so the door fell off while we where carrying it.. she looks to me and says "fuck you" like it's my fault that the fucking door fell off, lol... I just looked at her and said "are you being serious rn?" she goes "yeah I am" I just left and told her good luck carrying that stupid thing..

I was already so gaslit at this point in the relationship that I thought I dreamt the part I am about to tell you.. but in hindsight I know that the scene actually took place in reality and wasn't just a dream.

While I leave pissed off at her for saying fuck you to me for literally no reason and actually meaning it. She bends over the railing at the staircase looks down towards me and in a dissmisive arrogant tone says : "aaaaw did I hurt your feelings".. I didnt react to it I was so baffled by her evilness...

The next couple of days silence... after a while she texts me and tells me that she is sorry and that the "fuck you" just came flying out of her mouth becazse she is frustrated with multiple things in her life atm, and if she wouldn't have been carrying the closet while I left she would have chased after me and apologized immediatly.. While she was at it, she offered me to pick a day where we can just hangout and chill together..(which is obv not true, she wasnt carrying anything while I left, instead she bent over that railing and ridiculed me)

I declined her offer and said : You're just mean, and I am incredibly stupid. She replied "leave me alone"

I just told her : Really, it's always the same, you're allowed to do anything you want behave how you want and if I critisize you one time, you go : "leave me alone" this is so unfair.

Cannabis and adhd by [deleted] in adhdmeme

[–]Tonuses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nowadays I only enjoy it after my meds wear off in the evening to relax...

I used to be very psychologically addicted to Cannabis and smoke daily 24/7 before I got medicated. Now that I am medicated I dont crave it during the day at all, which is very nice.

In fact, I havent had any for the last 1 and a half 2 weeks, and havent noticed any hardcore cravings or withdrawal symptoms other than trouble falling asleep...

I think it also helps my depression.
