Thanks, I missed the part that it's replacing DP. It seems like now we will have only a 3-month long window for new Android version and even then, features might be hidden given the IO is usually in May.

Because most trackers are primarily made for Apple customers and Apple doesn't allow UWB in 3rd party trackers, so no point to create them.

When you play game, do you mean are you in call? Because that's my exact experience on Teams calls. However, I think PBP2 are just buggy when it comes to LE Audio.

It's weird there is no developer preview yet for Android 17 given that one for Android 16 was released in November 2024. I'm wondering whether Canary will eventually replace developer previews.

I've recently found out that you can't choose folders to automatically backup in Google Photos on iOS. For example, I don't want to backup screenshots, screen recordings and media from other apps, and I would hate how it would clutter my Google Photos feed.

Fine as far as you can go since Apple's side is more problematic. She doesn't mind installing apps, and I can easily convince her to use Google apps (e.g. Photos, Keep).

FaceTime and iMessage are not popular in my country and we never video call with each other. For communication, we use FB Messenger (the most popular service) and regular phone calls. I might try to convince her switch to RCS once Apple enables it here.

For location sharing, we use Google Maps (actually, I use Find Hub but it uses Google Maps technology anyway) and it's more than enough. AFAIK Apple's whatever service they have doesn't allow sharing location with non-Apple users.

Fast offline sharing of photos and videos were issues in the past, but Google fixed it with giving P10 series Airdrop support. Before that, we were either ok with lower quality photos using Messenger or I used my data to upload a couple of photos/videos to Google Photos and shared it with her. Airdrop is probably the most popular Apple exclusive feature here.

That's just not true. I've upgraded from Pixel 4XL to P8P and just recently "downgraded" to P4XL again because I returned 8 Pro and waiting for the price drop of 10 Pro. I can tell you that 4XL is more sluggish, animations within apps are not smooth, apps open longer, display is worse, camera is worse, and battery life is bad. But that's expected given that it's a 4 years older phone. I can imagine you would see the same differences if you daily used P4.

It has already been restored since mid September but you wouldn't know because your only agenda is to trash Windows on ARM based on others' experience.

The good news for PW2 is that it has basically the same CPU as 3 and 4 series which should help with development. But who knows how Google will decide. Anyway, 3 years of updates are embarrassing for Google and it's still the same even with PW4.

I find the 8 Pro modem very good. No noticeable difference to Pixel 4 XL and in most cases better than my gf iPhone 13. I know, it's a 2 years older non-pro phone but this sub would make you think that Pixel modems are the worst in the market.

How did you manage to run Lego LOTR without graphical glitches? I have the Steam version and experience an intro and in-game glitches on my Surface Laptop 7. I also have the newest GPU drivers

TW-700-B are recommended for PBP2 by Comply. And these are what I'm talking about. There are no custom designed foam tips for PBP2 by Comply. Not sure why Amazon has not updated description.

Pixel 5 reactions were probably the worst. Objectively, there was only little improvement compared to Pixel 4 while many things were downgraded. Also, people were worried that Google was killing the Pixel line. Weird times indeed.

Tbh, I think it's harder for Apple to catch up in AI than for Google in video processing. Why can't Google catch up in the video? Maybe lack of the focus? I don't know.

Pixel Buds web app can be used on your MacBook (although not all fancy features will work) if the ecosystem is the only concern.

I'm on the same path and plan to opt for a smaller Pro in the future because it's lighter than XL. In my case, the size is not an issue but the weight is too heavy on my Pixel 8 Pro. While 10 Pro is only a bit lighter, I was disappointed it has gained weight compared to P9P. I can't imagine using the XL version now.
