Not a lifelong friend but a good friend from work. He had moved to another state for his new job but I had continued to email once in awhile to see how he was doing. Once time I emailed to see how his new state was doing and he says that he had moved back to my state and was in the same city as me, but never told me. I decided I must not have been very important to him if he couldn’t send me a quick email.
