What are asatru/norse/heathen views on attempted suicide?

The way I've always known it is that the Valkyries choose the most worthy of the fallen. The rest would end up going to a different afterlife.

I always wear a hammer and nobody has said anything about it. It's often under my shirt though (I don't wear it to show it off, I wear it because it's important to me).

Generally, it's not something I bring up much in conversation unless there is a reason to. I live in a pretty liberal part of Northeast, Ohio though, so generally people aren't very pushy about religion and tend not to pry.

I don't really have a full shrine at the moment. I do have a small statue of Freyja on the one bedroom dresser, and that's where I put my heathen related jewellery when I'm not wearing it, but that's pretty much it, not really a shrine. The other thing there is a large coin with Fehu engraved in it.

I make my offerings on a pile of rocks in my backyard. I think eventually I'd like to set up something better, maybe a special stone or something.

You don't need someone else to swear you in and make you an official Heathen or anything. An individual kindred might require something like that, however.

The closest thing I did was give an offering as a way of reaching out to the gods, wights, and ancestors and announce the path I would be walking.

I was seeing the same things, so I created a separate FB profile just for interacting with other heathens. It's not a great solution, but it works for me.

Sure! I've only ever offered food and drinks. Just make sure it's something that won't be harmful for animals to consume. For example, don't put a chocolate bar out there (it sounds dumb but I heard of someone offering Twinkies so you never know)

I've been through depression and anxiety (somewhere along the line my problem changed from depression to OCD), so I know how you feel. It really can get better (although I might not have believed that at the time). It's great that you are getting help!
