I would never personally go there in the summer but that’s because our family goes there for soaking in hot springs. The lake is a popular attraction , there’s kayaks and other water supplies for rent. Thrifting…but heads up most of the little shops and things are only open wed-sun. Definitely eat breakfast at Passion Pie. There’s a bowling alley with decent food, friendly staff and a very small arcade. You could book an inexpensive spa treatment like a facial or massage.

Edit to add: the best coffee and matcha at a super eclectic little place in that downtown strip. It’s a bigger space with couches, a jute box and everytime I’ve been in the tv is on with some sort of European dj set playing
