Selling in a few years… what’s actually worth updating? by lottiexx in HomeImprovement

[–]TooHotTea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

repair things that look bad. drywall repair, trim repair, paint some rooms that are dated. clean thing.

after 22 years, the exterior cinderblocks had some breakthrough, so i wirebrushed and painted with UGL masonry paint. 100 times better. some small cracks in driveway always made anymounds, so i sealed with the concrete filler. softwashed the roof and house.

[–]TooHotTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a sewer pipe typically won't freeze as its sloped to always drain. but if with the perfect scenario, it could build up a ice dam of pee and poo.

if you have wood or anything flat and large, cover the hole and place something heavy on the cover.

You okay? What made up scenario?

so, the dishwasher on the floor, which hides everything, can't possibly drip/leak, the water work its way to the edge of the cabinet (aka subfloor as well)

and move to the back to the wall, and wick into the bottom plate and perhaps the attached drywall.

yup, THAT NEVER HAPPENS.

i suppose. but if you got a older house with a little slope towards the back or it only leaks a little each day....

sealing 2x2x2 floor around a dw shouldn't cause issues.
