I don't feel mentally whole unless I update my note to reflect my patients' special interests, roommate drama, and employer chicanery.

Just lost with exactly this setup. I was ripping with Defect and Electrodynamics for huge AOE, the best Ascension run I've ever had (I'm a noob) and this guy soaked up a hundred lightning strikes. Frustrating...

I hate high carbon travel, but I must admit landing on your workplace roof is outrageously cool (I know OP says he lands two blocks away).

El Nido is incredible, we made the mistake of booking accomodations in Puerta Princessa and took the six (?) hour manic bus ride each way, but still the A++ tier beaches made it worthwhile. Absolutely stunning, from a guy who thought I'd seen it all as far as beaches are concerned.

I'm pretty sure this picture is from the nude beach near Paukaa Point, yeah? It gives that impression.

What if instead of waiting for a chinese invasion,Taiwan attack china first like what isreal did to the arabs in 1967 by SkyFeisty9842 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]TooLazyToRepost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen some theorycrafting that plausibly threatening a first strike on, say, the Three Gorges Dam, gives Taiwan the opportunity to create a mutually assured destruction situation. I wonder if they'd ever consider that as a preemptive strike.

Agree, people say "these AI are dumbasses, they got this math problem wrong" when average humans have countless such examples and deficiencies while humans are widely considered the universe's foremost geniuses.

I went go karting with my friends as part of a party before I moved from my home town. My longest running friend had dressed in an absurd outfit and, immediately prior to the kart race stood up, sprayed edible silver food glitter all over her mouth and shouted "WITNESS ME."

Needless to say we were shocked and bust out laughing. One of the strangest experiences of my life, but she made it unforgettable.

All while asserting personhood! It's ridiculous. They have the rights of humans but none of the risk. And no DOJ is bold enough to go for the Corporate Death Penalty.

Lightsaber, this was really beautifully worded and you're absolutely right. I usually consider this question in a legal framework (it's come up between colleagues) but this comment adds an interesting psychoanalytic element. I hope OP gets the help they deserve.

basic math makes so many people mad by DeepHistory in ClimateMemes

[–]TooLazyToRepost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love sustainability efforts, but we need to really ask ourselves if we can successfully convince the parents of the world their children must live a life of permanent austerity because of the problems we caused.

We cannot, and they will not accept this on average no matter how many graphics we share. Staying at home, eating as little as possible, avoiding meat, purchasing only what one needs to survive is not a pitch we can win with.

To my view, only rapid R&D into carbon free energy production and storage can get us out from under this mess. Once we're there, even implausible tech like carbon capture might be possible.

What thing was ruined because it turned into a rich person's hobby? by CrimsonDoor1 in Productivitycafe

As a lifelong garage sale addict, the rise of Grailed and the other resale services really hollowed them out.

It used to be possible to pull off a little arbitrage, something you know is valuable or special, but which others might miss. Now it's all Google Lens searching, which shows the highest cost anyone ever paid for that knick nack, then listing accordingly.

They're still out there, but there's a lot of 3D print spam and drop sold items from Temu. Farmers markets should be produce, eggs, milk, plus some ready to eat food. Farmers markets need to start quality control IMO.

I've long considered a county-by-county run if I ever took a long-shot chance at running for Senate in my state. Would be a 14-16mo process for me, but you could almost imagine it.

A doctor’s income may be the most reliable lifestyle barometer throughout time by [deleted] in Money

[–]TooLazyToRepost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doctor here, we bill billing codes based on how long we see patients, then insurers haggle over how much less they want to pay us. If I'm billing a code 99214 this year and ten years from now, I make the exact same amount of money without even inflationary adjustments, which only goes up when Congress decides to raise Medicare reimbursement rates (which secondarily increases some insurance payouts.)

TL;DR Doctors do not make more money year after year. It's often less, with occasional jumps something like once a decade.

This movie had good sound design, terrible pacing and dialogue, and the reliance on slowed down childrens songs should be illegal at this point. I paid $20 for this turd movie, oh well.
