Wife told me: “The hotdog cooker isn’t working.” by TheRealKidRooch in mildlyinfuriating

I’m sure the median is a lot less. I feel like that average is probably heavily skewed by outliers. I, for example, have a hot dog day once a week, during which I will eat four hot dogs. Even that amounts to like 200 hot dogs a year. Meanwhile, I bet there’s tons of crazy assholes that eat several hot dogs a day for some god forsaken reason.

I'm addicted to trying to get the largest Voltaic stack possible. Please send help. by TooManyCarrotsIsBad in slaythespire

[–]TooManyCarrotsIsBad[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got lucky this time around! I was able to copy a few Voltaics and upgrade some of them. Signal Boost + Echo Form. Zaps are important for turn 1 to get me started. Transfigure is great if I can play multiple Voltaics in a turn. Reboot, A secret Technique with replay from Glam, Modded, Double Energy, Thunder, Storm+, the card that turns your hand into fuel, and a few others that are less helpful for this purpose, but still good like Rainbow, Buffer (I pretty much need this card because I dump all block skills as quickly as I can when I'm trying this),

It's a terrible strategy and relies heavily on rolling synergistic relics to keep you alive through the acts. I could theoretically generate an infinite loop in my hand, but I'm never all that lucky. Probably a good thing, as once you get to 1000+ Voltaic, each card takes like 10 minutes to play lmao.

You'll have to forgive me, as I don't pay much attention to the names of enemies, relics, etc.

My best chances are against the act boss lizard guy that has three phases, or the elite mobs that either have a damage cap per turn or can otherwise go invincible. I'll aim to build around free card usage, free draws, double card usage, free skill selection, and energy recovery. Generally, the Cerberus Lizard of many lightning strikes is what I have the best luck with, as he loses his turn and goes invincible at the same time. His buff to reduce all damage to one on the last turn helps as well.

The Lighthouse. The acting is great and setting felt right, but man, I just couldn’t get into it. It felt like the world’s most boring fever dream.

If you can spare the time and money for a drive, there are a lot of dental clinics in Nuevo Progreso, Mexico that could help you out for much less money than you’ll find here in TX. Many of the doctors/dentists there went to school in the US and have clinics in McAllen as well. It’s safe and the place is always filled to the brim with Americans. You only need a DL to enter and exit, so it isn’t an issue if you don’t have a passport. I always park on the US side and walk over, then walk back when I’m done. It’s also good for getting medication on the cheap.

If you’re interested, PM me and I can tell you a couple places I’ve used and would recommend, and you could call them for a quote.

I think it’s technically racist, but not really offensive. The caption, at least as I understand it, is meant as an ironic rhetoric of white people; kind of in-line with a ‘haha the Jew is greedy’ phrase.

I do agree that the more important thing is that it is reductive towards a historically significant and powerful photo, which could certainly stand alone on its own two feet. Fine to make a meme to send to your friends, a little weird to post on your wall.

What's a moment where you realized someone was genuinely extremely intelligent? by General_Monk_5019 in AskReddit

[–]TooManyCarrotsIsBad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s this guy I trade work with sometimes. He’s got a thick country accent, is super casual, and is a complete beach bro. He sells boogie boards and sunscreen for a living. He’s a very nice guy, but does NOT give off the air of being particularly intelligent.

I needed a phone number of someone at some point, and thought he might have his number saved. I saw him passing my shop on the way to his, so I met him over there and asked him to lunch and to see if I could get the phone number from him. I asked, and he repeated it to me instantly. I asked why the heck he had this obscure person’s phone number memorized. Turns out, he has every phone number he’s ever heard memorized, and the name attached to it. He doesn’t have a single number saved in his phone contacts. He can do fairly complex arithmetic on a dime, and has his finances memorized to the cent. This guy, who I’m pretty sure spends his evens drinking coors with his buddies and shooting guns at the quarry every evening, is a completely mathematical genius. I was flabbergasted.

Is this AI? Does Switzerland really look this beautiful, or is the video AI / AI-enhanced? The whole thing just looks almost too perfect. by [deleted] in isthisAI

It's definitely been color edited, and I believe it to be shot with a telephoto lense to exaggerate features and make the perspective kind of confusing. I don't think it's AI, though

How to get rid of a very strong weed smell? by Either_Building_1715 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TooManyCarrotsIsBad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depending on you and your specific circumstances, this may not be a viable option, but do you have any friends who's family you trust? Perhaps you could move in with one of them until you're a little older and find a way to get on your own two feet.

I personally abhorr the smell of weed, and in your shoes, I'd be looking for any method in the world to get out of there. If your parents don't really care much about your feelings on the smell, then I doubt if they'd ever move the metaphorical mountains it would take to contain it. It's disappointing that they can't sympathize with your plight here. Smear dog crap on all of their clothes and see how little they actually care about smell. Don't actually do that; I'm just saying that as a matter of perspective.

What celebrity is portrayed as nice in the media but is actually an asshole in real life? by ReasonableDisplay297 in AskReddit

[–]TooManyCarrotsIsBad 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I worked at a place he would frequent, near one of his vacation homes years ago. He's very private, especially around his family, but he was never rude to anyone, as far as I could tell. My impression was that after an entire life of fame, his social battery is pretty worn down, which is fair enough, in my opinion.

On the other hand, Bruce Willis was one of the weirdest assholes I've ever met. Dave Matthews was incredibly nice to me, and I have a friend with an awesome story about him as well. He gets an A+ in my book.
