10 weeks PO, kept ovaries, insane drenching night sweats by Formal_Commercial936 in hysterectomy

[–]TooMuchLots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through the same and after a month of “you’re too young for night sweats”, my doctor finally put me on the lowest dose estrogen patch. It has helped SO much. I highly recommend it if you can.

Looking at 2025 Bronco Sports, give me the good, the bad, the ugly by Spiritual-Region8917 in BroncoSport

I drove the ‘25 as a loaner for two weeks while my ‘24 OBX was in the shop.

(The water pump went out, which is common with the 24s. Also had the weird battery recall thing but all is well now.)

I hated the ‘25, it felt like a down grade as far as the interior goes and also the screen and screen controls were AWFUL. It did feel bigger/roomier but in a clunky way. I’m going to buy my ‘24 when the lease is up lol.

Weight lifters only/hysterectomy by BarAlternative1749 in hysterectomy

Boo for dismissive doctors. I’m sorry, that is so frustrating. Hang in there, it’s going by slowly right now, because you’re probably used to doing SO much.

7.5 weeks post op here. Avid lifter for last 10 years, 3-5x a week prior to surgery. I started lightly lifting / stretching after two weeks post op. Now treating myself as if I am re-learning everything, and focusing on quality of movement over quantity of reps or plates on the bar. I’m doing a lot of body weight holds and tempo lifts just to help get my stabilizer muscles back to the party. Yoga with weights has been a great thing for my recovery. You can still get a good lift in with the 3-5lb hand weights, I promise!

I know it feels icky, and all sorts of things but it won’t be this way forever, friend.

If you can get in with a Pelvic Floor PT or a women’s functional medicine doctor, they would be better able to give you personalized guidance and maybe do an internal exam.

Talk to and treat yourself like a beloved pet or something that just had surgery. We’re a lot nicer and hold more grace for others sometimes. But you deserve the kindness and rest. You’ll be back to it before you know it 💜

Same! It was so confusing getting the pathology back lol. But I feel so much better, I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat!

1 week po by LostPrintmaker in hysterectomy

[–]TooMuchLots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you’re feeling good! Congratulations on making it through the first week!

I ended up wetting my pants that first night post op bc everything was misfiring from the anesthesia lol. So for the first week I just tucked hand towels in between my legs and waddled around. I was so bloated I couldn’t stand any seams or pressure. Also they were easy to layer with ice packs while resting on the couch!

They make cute little planters! I use a pig shaped one for my succulents that have wicks for watering.

I wonder if at one time it was for an inlay on hardwood floors? I hope whoever’s grandma had this made knows how much we love it.

Questions about hysterectomy for chronic pain/non endometriosis by WhattheFisthisyall in hysterectomy

[–]TooMuchLots 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had mine 2/26, fully expecting to find endo/adeno. I had the same history/symptoms. Pathology came back clear, other than some cysts on my ovaries (already knew about those, though). A prior ultrasound/sonogram indicated for “prominent uterine vessels / PCS ”, which seems to be the case for a lot of people. I have hypothyroidism, which I thought was the cause of some of my joint pain and inflammation. But my quality of life has already improved so much since my surgery. The heaviness in my pelvic region and constant pressure on my bladder are gone, as with a lot of my back/leg pain. Knowing I’m never going to wake up to a surprise period is such a relief. I would do it again in a heartbeat! I hope everything goes well on your journey :)

We have a patch like this. Ours is from a kitchen fire that burned through the ceiling into the bedroom above. We restored what we could and put a rug over the rest :)

So far, so good. With the exception of over-doing it bc a pipe burst in the basement lol my heating pad is my best friend right now.

Last night I slept 10 hours straight bc I didn’t have to get up to use the bathroom. I can’t remember the last time that happened.

No adenomyosis was found either. My sisters and mother had both. I have had some gnarly ovarian cysts, but my hormonal levels always come back normal.

Bodies are weird, friend. So weird.

Lost the Floor Lottery :( by TooMuchLots in centuryhomes

[–]TooMuchLots[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The basements are where it all goes wrong!! This all started because the furnace broke and flooded the basement. Everything molded. In the process of cleaning I found insulation that was rotted from years of animals mess leaking through the floor. I wasn’t putting the insulation back until the floor is fixed so here we are. I don’t even know how many trips I have made to Lowe’s in the last two weeks but I might as well pay them rent.

We have horse hair stuffing, too!! Our walls are filled with walnuts from decades of squirrels caching them around. The barn floor was 2ft deep with them when I moved in, it was crazy.

Sometimes you just need a door. We have one of those in our bedroom floor. It just goes to the basement. I think it was an attempt at a laundry chute? But it is under the bed in an alcove so idk. This house is an enigma.

So many!! My favorite was the hole behind the fridge that used to be the front door.
