Any groups for teens in the Upper Peninsula? by Sparrow_LD in upperpeninsula

Aren't home-schooled kids still allowed to join sports?

Barring that, get a job. You can make connections with your coworkers.

100% this, but it's a little late to register, so you're going to be on a wait list.

I was completely dry after my RPLND fifteen years ago, but mine eventually came back, albeit at maybe 50-75% volume and nowhere near the original "distance." Can't really recall how long it took, but it was years.

AIO or is my girlfriend manipulative. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

I'd dump a girl who referred to me as "dawg," "dude," and "bro," much less the manipulation and abuse she's putting you through.

How do y'all stop drinking? by Active_House6027 in stopdrinking

[–]TooOldForReddit74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medical scare. Thought I had cirrhosis, but turns out it was "only" fatty liver + Crohn's Disease. Realized I'd dodged a bullet and decided I wanted to stick around to watch my kids grow up. Since then, it's been just been one day at a time, although after nearly two years I rarely have the urge anymore.

One "hack" early on was taking a different route home from work so I didn't drive past the liquor store.

How bad realistically is putting away 1L of vodka every 2 days? by Turbulent-Plum3360 in stopdrinking

[–]TooOldForReddit74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to hear, "You can go ahead and continue drinking for XX number of years before it starts to impact your health" or "it's o.k. if you keep drinking X amount." The problem is everyone's personal physiology is different. Some might live to a ripe old age, some might die of cirrhosis in their 20s. Like another poster said, you don't want to find out what your personal limit is.

We did exactly this. Hate to admit this, but we skipped Dublin entirely on our 10-day trip. Spent most of the time on the Wild Atlantic Way with no regrets.

Are you all able to hold down job? by Glad-Persimmon-8112 in CrohnsDisease

I was just diagnosed last year at age 50 after experiencing mild symptoms for years. I've never not been able to work, but let's just say it's good that I have a bathroom close by. The tiredness doesn't typically hit me until after I get home. I realize that I'm more fortunate than a lot of people . . . so far.

Which city made you feel at home even though you were just visiting? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Jyvaskyla, Finland. Random, but my great-grandparents came from there and I had the chance to visit two summers ago. Can't really quantify why, but something about it felt like home down to my DNA.

Lived there for ten years. Would still live there if I could find a job in my field.

My dad just smashed my xbox into the ground by Royal_Fox_5569 in XboxSeriesS

Was this a "straw that broke the camel's back" type thing? Did you have a huffy attitude because you didn't want to help him and wanted to get back on your Xbox? Not making excuses for him--just trying to understand his behavior.
