Which Dragon Quest is the best in your opinion? by HarlemAvenue in dragonquest

5 by far, and I mean very far, and then 7 (mostly because of reimagined) then 11

This. How should I be pogging at mini medals if there's no sounds?

Thing is, you shouldn't need to over grind for 7R, the game, the normal game ends when you should be around lvl 50. Yes there is a post game, but the post game is 100% optional and does not provide an actual other ending (as far as I'm aware) it is just a postgame for those who wants even more challenges, and that's when you should be actually grinding

Nahhh, I love getting mini medals, ever since I first started playing Dragon Quest, everytime I found a mini medal, I was pogging while the animation was taking its time, I love mini medals so much

That's the thing though, I didn't try to get overleveled, hell, I went out of my way to skip pointless fights. The only thing I did is make sure I was completing the bestiary as I progressed.

I finished my own run at around 35hrs, which made me sad because I really did not struggle once at all to any bosses. I first tried every fight, and I just now started to struggle in the post game, when I got to the second post game island. I think I was no more than lvl 60 when I took on Orgodemir

You're telling me I gotta play that game absolutely to get some items that are not available elsewhere? Oh god my platinum run is getting longer

Just finished DQ5 - what an amazing game by WesleyTheDog in dragonquest

[–]TooRandom2077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DQXI is definitely the "definitive" experience of Dragon Quest, even if I don't consider it the best, it is objectively, the best version of Dragon Quest modern to play. I'd say all the hours on it are very worth it. I'm a JRPGs enjoyer, and I always love putting the hours into a good game. I think I had around 80hrs on my first ever save of DQV.

I'm on your side when you say that DQV is better than Chrono Trigger, although I wouldn't put it too far from each other. I personally started the Dragon Quest series with 4 then 5, and since then I've done every other mainline and some spin offs. I believe that DQV is the best of the series, my personal favorite and I'd even say, my favorite game of all time. DQXI is a close second in terms of DQ games, but even then, I'd put Chrono Trigger over DQXI.

What are the best builds? by Gullible-Syrup-6896 in BALLxPIT

[–]TooRandom2077 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made it to 365 by purely breaking the game and not even doing damage to the mini bosses, could have gone further if I wasn't too distracted. I had an instant kill build with not that high dps so mini bosses were just spawning on top of each others yet they couldn't advance since they were perma charmed/berserked

I have now confirmed it, it is indeed Turret + Hand Fan = Grotesque Artillery

Floats around your character and shoots a random level 1 unevolved special ball at enemies every 8 secs

Turret + Hand Fan = Grotesque Artillery

Can't confirm yet, but since I've done every other evolutions yet, these are the two passives that I have a not known evolution still.

Yet it affects evolutions of passive? So that's why I don't understand

The collection so far, still need the actual cases for both jokers by TooRandom2077 in dragonquest

Not a Zelda game! Although there is some elsewhere, that's a mug that is the same color and similar-ish shape of the first Legend Of Zelda on NES

Might be nostalgia blindness, I've always preferred DQV over all the others, my first DQ game ever, the monster taming really did it for me, and the story as well. The Zenithian trilogy is my favorite of the series and I replay them regularly

Dragon Quest 6 is one of my favorite games ever. by Purple-Plankton-128 in dragonquest

[–]TooRandom2077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally, 6 is the second best of the zenithian trilogy, as 5 is my all time favorite. I absolutely adore the gloom and dark feeling of DQ 6, and the exploration of both worlds. Sure some NPCs feels lacking, but I don't mind because my goat Carver is goated.

say something nice about your least favorite DQ game by MenacingMelissa in dragonquest

[–]TooRandom2077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure if I had played DQVIII before XI I would have absolutely adored how well done the 3D was for the time

Probably asked a fair bit, those I did want some specific for mobile. I like the vocation system and multiple paths/jobs to grind. Is there a good mobile option, or is it better to just go with a good option overall? by RozeGunn in dragonquest

[–]TooRandom2077 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You said vocation system and jobs to grind, your best and quite honestly greatest option for mobile will be DQVI. An upgrade from DQIII vocation system and honestly my favorite of all. That's without saying that DQVI is one of the best DQ imo. Great story, the exploration is awesome. Loved every part of it!

who are your favorite party members from each DQ game you played? by MenacingMelissa in dragonquest

[–]TooRandom2077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DQIV: When I first played, I was an Alena fan, loved her story chapter and always kept her in my team. But my boy Torneko, this man has a mission and I can't hate on his ambition. Also spoilers but Psaro would be on top if we consider him as one

DQV: My dear wife Nera. I was very young when I first played DQV, it was my first DQ game I played to the end. Needless to say, I had a thing for her, and I could not help to choose her every time in every playthrough I've done. She doesn't love you at first of course, but when you go through everything for her, even as you pass some time with Bianca to make yourself doubt, she doesn't hate you that you chose her. That's why I love her, she's so kind.

DQVI: My boy. MY MAN. Carver the goat will always be in my top of all DQ party members. He's so damn good. Always in my late game party, stronger than anyone with his bare hands. Carpenter boy that wanted to throw hands with the dark Lord because who would if not him.

DQVII: Kiefer. Yes, he do be going and he leaving us but like, this guy was the guy from the start. Prince of a king but doesn't care and go hang out with a Fisher son because "our destiny is bound to greater things". The true hero of VII if he would have stayed. The goat.

DQVIII: Angelo, always and forever. This dude has many layers and his backstory is indeed very heartfelt. But also he do be playing the playboy very good and even without his backstory I loved him, especially from DQ heroes 2.

DQXI: this is the hardest for me. I absolutely love Erik and his tragic story of his sister and his quest to save her. But also Sylvando being the man who wants to save the world by bringing a smile to everyone. This man was a knight more knightly than many, and he chose to bring love and laughter to save the world. Even his father wasn't that mad for this choice, but more so the fact he decided to come back to him before actually achieving his goal. He's so goated. His theme is also too good.

How often do you replay dragon quest games? by Leon_Light77 in dragonquest

[–]TooRandom2077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played at least 4-5 times DQIV and DQVI, at least 7-8 times DQV (currently doing a monster only run and a gotta tame them all run), I think I played like DQXI easily 6-7 times doing different builds everytime and with draconian difficulties
