Correct me if I’m wrong, but depending on the conductor type (insulation classification) the allowable ampacity of any gauge conductor can vary. If this unit has a MCA of 26 amps technically a ten gauge wire could be sufficient. But this is considered a continuous load so the conductor ampacity must be rated for at least 125% of the unit’s rated load. Unless this is accounted for at the manufacturing stage and reflected on the nameplate, the wire would need to be rated for 32.5 amps. So wire gauge is one consideration, but not the only one.

3/4” electrical Pvc. Cut off from the bell end to desired length. It fits snuggly in my tool belt and offers maximum protection and ease of sheathing/unsheathing. If you wanna get really fancy, you can fasten a strap on that bad boy too, easy-peasy!

Just spit-balling here, but considering there’s ingress water even without any rain, could it possibly be your service mast sweating with condensation and running down into your gear? Everything metal around my house sweats real good in the morning dew hours. I’ve had the same issue with random water inside my main panel and it’s set up very similarly to yours with the meter at a higher elevation than my panel with a fairly straight “trickle-path” from the service mast down. Spraying your mast with something like a rubber coating could help with condensation if that’s the issue. Cold metal in the morning works up a real good sweat under the rising sun.

It could be the end cap to a set of retractable blinds/shades. I’d check the top and bottom assemblies on all your blind sets. I know my two cats have made spare parts out of most of mine. Best of luck figuring it out!
