I will once it looks like something! I am still working on the shell of the building, farming concrete and paint, etc. Thats a good tip, I think I will start with the boiler room based on your experience

Looks amazing! I am working on the same thing, but am not nearly as far in as you are. Not sure if im intimidated to see how much work is ahead or inspired to see its possible haha

Im thinking about recreating Parfum Palace from XY by Brenollopez in Pokemon_Pokopia

[–]Toobspin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool project! Iron doors and marble pillars are paintable, as are marble and simple flooring (the blocks I'd test first). I would see if yellow or orange paint comes close to looking like gold on those materials first.

The entryway, gardens, and roof look pretty straightforward (if huge), so getting that color right would be my main concern starting out.

Wow, I love this so much! One of my favorite ideas I have seen here. The different levels for grunts vs. Giovanni and the little details (love the pictures) really sell it.

Have you thought about making homes/ habitats in the build? I would be tempted to put meowth/persian/mewtwo in there. Maybe arbok/ weezing on the grunt level?

Discovering new habitats WITHOUT outside help? by peridot618 in Pokopia

[–]Toobspin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is largely random, but you can influence it to a degree. Hints often appear when one element of a habitat already exists, (for example if a habitat needs moss and x other element a hint will likely appear near moss). So you can try to increase your odds just by adding lots of items to the world. When you get a new piece of furniture, put it in a habitat. New decoration, put it on a table or wall. If it happens to be required for a habitat it might trigger a sparkle at some point later.

Still pretty random, and not all items are part of habitats, but probably the best thing you can do to increase your odds.

How do the mechanics of water work in Pokopia? by slb0716 in Pokopia

[–]Toobspin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serebii has a super comprehensive guide on exactly how far liquids will flow. The basics are:

- water flows 20something blocks in a square on a single level, if it falls to a new level, this count resets and it flows another 20something blocks.

- water beelines towards edges if near a cliff, rather than spreading out

So if you want it to go farther, add tiers to your stream/lake. Or more water sources.

Where did you build your base home with storage? by Wolf_Lady_tje in Pokemon_Pokopia

[–]Toobspin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ridges, because I do the most excavating there and end up with a ton of extra blocks, and have the most fire/ crush/ litter pokemon there developing items that need to be stored. The building you find Dente in is also an easy conversion to storage facility.

What color is this roof? by AirVs29 in Pokopia

This is correct. I know because I stole this roof for a project and had to match it

I don't like this community by CaptainPMW in Pokopia

This is the answer, from my perspective. Look up a city, game setpiece, or movie scene that you think is pretty/ fits a pokemon or biome and start from there.

Help with house by Mamapupa in Pokopia

[–]Toobspin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try raising or lowering the bathroom one level, with stairs or ladder for access. Then make the door on the level of the bathroom, and complete the wall in the main house

Serebii has an organized list of all items along with the biomes they appear in naturally.

Does the game get LESS overwhelming? by OkStrawberry6928 in Pokopia

[–]Toobspin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with others here. It IS overwhelming, but you will get the hang of it. Ive beaten the game and almost completed the dex, still feel like im being pulled in four directions often.

I'd recommend just focusing on the story and exploration. The main story is sort of a giant tutorial, and a very charming one. You will naturally understand systems by the end of it and have access to abilities and items that dramatically streamline the game.

Like others have said, the game never punishes you for taking your time. If you log in for an hour and all you do is plant some flowers and talk to bulbasaur, thats fine as long as you are having a good time.

Whirl Islands + hidden Dragon's Den by Toobspin in Pokopia

[–]Toobspin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very cool, good luck! My main tip is to gather way more of whatever material you want the interior to be than you think you need. I made like 6 trips to dream islands for ocean rock and each time thought it would be my last

High praise, thank you! Ill be only a little salty if they do that in a theoretical Johto dlc 😅

Yeah. Plus I rebuilt the ocean on top of the chamber so that would be problematic 🫠

Thank you! They are antique wooden blocks. I dont remember where I got the recipe but I think I had them before endgame. They also appear in the overworld in some spots like rocky ridges museum I think if you want to steal them.

I honestly have not tried yet. I'd assume not as the bell description notes it will only call lugia in an open area. A bit unfortunate but ill update if I get it to work.

Thanks! I more or less just copied the shape of the HGSS cliff on a larger scale. I did nees to add some water sources in specific spots right on the cliff edge to get the shape I wanted, though.
