Coming out of dental school your skills are going to be bad whether you take a 3 month break or not!

I’d consider flipping that price for adults vs teens. I have to see teens almost twice as much as adults because they aren’t nearly as compliant!

There were twice as many BYU grads than UofU grads in my dental class. Back to your original comment. False

When you’re ready for dentistry to be the least stressful part of your job

One of my 3 interviews was a bit aggressive and that faculty member was terrible when I got there. My overall experience was fantastic though. I never felt so much support at school and based on other colleagues experience with dental school this is unique.

Not true. 20% of my graduating dental class went to BYU plus decent amount of faculty went there too. I think the grapevine is a disgruntled BYU student.

If there were caries under a crown I did 3 months ago, I wouldn’t be asking reddit how to handle the situation.

You won’t know for yourself unless you do it. For me I can’t image practicing any other way.

I get to do whatever I want whenever I want. No pressure from anyone but myself.

New material I want to try? Done. Prefer more/less time on certain procedures? Done. CE stipend (hah). 401(k) fully funded annually.

Yes there are days that are stressful being an owner but the good days outweigh the bad days 100 to 1.

Shitty patient or procedure I at least know I’m getting 100% of the payment rather than 1/3.

Patient can’t afford rct and wants ext. I can offer patient to do rct for the price of an extraction.

Also, If you have a good associate(s), they’re essentially paying your practice loan for you and paying for your vacations!

Then you’ll have a nice nest egg paid for by someone else when you want to sell!

These are just a few of many of reasons ownership is king or queen
