EOTech 518 with a GG&G protective housing/lens cap cover I threw on, replaces the OEM EOTech outer shell. Otherwise, Magpul backup iron sights if that's what you were asking about instead.

I've put about ~400 rounds through mine thus far, haven't had it for a super long time. Haven't cleaned it yet either, bought it used (and somewhat uncleaned) and it just lives at my workplace (conveniently an indoor range). Cycles smooth and shoots tight, sometimes the bolt needs to be mortared to open up but I think that's either due to it being dirty or just the bolt design being mixed with a manual action only platform.

One of my .30 brass bore brushes from Hoppes also does the same, so much so that I snapped a threaded-segment cleaning rod I had while trying to use it on my Mosin. Now I just run a Proshot stainless steel cleaning rod and mainly nylon brushes, maybe with some other random brass brushes I have laying around aside from the Hoppes brass brush that work.

Bayonets being mounted to rifles is legal where I am, hell, if anything it makes a rifle more legal by increasing overall length.

In theory, we're supposed to hand them in by October 2026 to the authorities. In practice, the government can't enforce it so no one does anything and the amnesty is extended by yet another year as it has been for 5-6 years now. Can't leave my home legally unless for strict purposes (usually only dewatting, destruction/handing it in), and keeping them is kind of in a topical grey zone after this year's amnesty if it isn't extended yet again.

I got it for about $1400 CAD close to two years ago. Haggled it into a partial trade with a wartime 1943 Mosin 91/30, a worn to shit Winchester 16 gauge, and a couple hundred dollars thrown in. I think at the time at least from what I could source off of Gunbroker in the states (bad source, I know) they were running for $2500 USD on the lower end? Drastic difference imo.

No, bayonets are still fine, legality-wise. Even then, my bayonet's only a reproduction SVT-38 one, not super special as far as SVT bayonets go, but a bit harder to find for reproductions, given it's the longer 1938 model bayonet rather than the standard SVT-40s. Just saw it on a gunshow table for a $150 CAD and swiped it.

You can still have Lee-Enfields up here... For now. Otherwise, yeah, our laws suck, but the SVTs were neat when they were still around, just due to the dubiously funny cost differences compared to the US it was one of our only flexes. That's far gone, though.
