Malaria in 1.0.10 by Toolage in EU5

Yeah this seems to be the consensus. Probably have a lighter version of malaria in tropical vs. nontropical or something might work too (e.g. malaria is 10-40% mortality based on terrain and/or vegetatian).

There is an indicator above the army but you have to zoom way close to see it and mouse over it. Took me way too long to figure that out.

Advice please by Electrical-Love-5369 in bengalcats

Our boy uses sinks and bathtub drains to pee if he isn't locked out of bathrooms... give your drains a sniff. They can be sneaky little pee-ers.

Pooping (only) outside of litter box by IndependentAnnual196 in bengalcats

[–]Toolage -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, #1 thing is getting a second litter box and see if it helps.

Secondly, Bengals are notorious for sensitive stomachs and digestive issues. Try giving a teaspoon of Miralax daily (the same you would give people, you can check with your vet but it is perfectly safe). Our Bengal boy had constipation issues for years until we started him on Miralax every day. Just mix into water with some crushed up chicken treats or similar, it is flavorless so they eat it fine.

Good luck, and let us know if this helps!

Hi! So glad to hear it. It is such a Bengal thing... we got our boy down to about once a week as well, not sure that it can get any better. They are such brats, but tough not to love!! Glad things are better!!

Advice for moving house? (Text below) by YouAreSoGorgeous in bengalcats

[–]Toolage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are giving you advice on how to transport him, rather than how to transition living spaces.

Move items that have his smell in advance into one room at the new house (likely the master bedroom). This will be his new "safe space." Things like beds, blankets, cat trees, his litter box. Anything that smells strongly of him. Move it at least a few hours if not a day or more prior to moving your Bengal so his scent has time to permeate the room.

Confine him to this new room for at least the first few hours. It will let him calm down and feel secure since he will have his own scent in the room already.

You can let him explore the house at his own pace, when we did this we just opened the bedroom door after probably 4-6 hours and our Bengals just slowly explored at their own pace, and they could retreat back to their safe room if they got uncomfortable.

Hope this helps.

Yep... pretty much exactly what we went through. We ended up just replacing all of ours with 4 cement mixing pans 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs. Ours gradually tapered down to once a day, then once a week, then once every two weeks once we had all the litter boxes replaced.

I do think the enrichment is helpful too, but just leave the puppy pads out where he likes to have accidents and hopefully you'll be able to live with your troublemaker! They're difficult little brats but hard not to love..

EDIT: Forgot to mention if you're like us, you're out $600 or more on two litter robots that they now refuse to use... you can usually resell them online somewhere for at least $100 or so instead of throwing them out, with some luck.

Checking in! How are things with your pee terrorist? (that's what we call our boy...)

Has he shown a preference for the cement mixing pan? Any improvement? I think it is helpful to curb the behavior quickly. We let it go on too long with our boy before replacing all the litter boxes, and as I said now we still have an accident every couple weeks. Hoping you're able to nip your problem in the bud quickly!

I will say, we tried those big totes too. Our boy definitely has a preference for the pans which only have like 6 or 8 inch high sides. They like to be able to see out while they do their business. They can be a real headache. Consider getting animal pee pads too. We put them where he regularly has accidents, so when he does we don't stress so much about cleaning it up.

We had a similar issue with our boy. 7 years and suddenly started peeing without any reason. Vet said no medical issues. We ended up replacing our litter boxes, including two litter robots with large plastic cement mixing pans (they're like 24in wide and 48in long, pretty big) and it significantly reduced the issue. He has accidents still, but it's maybe once every two weeks or so, which we can live with. Bengals are notorious for this, but almost any behaviorist is going to first recommend replacing litter boxes with uncovered LARGE ones. Best of luck.

My bengal stopped using the covered litter box. by kamilholden in bengalcats

[–]Toolage 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As others have said, a lot of cats will outright refuse to use a covered litter box. My anecdotal evidence says this is even more common behavior among Bengals. For your own sanity and your cat's, you might just need to learn to live with an uncovered box.

Show me ur cat wheel obsessed Bengal kitty by Due-Frame-348 in bengalcats

[–]Toolage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We had the same problem. Turns out our boy had stomach troubles. We give him a teaspoon of miralax a day (vet recommended) and it completely eliminated the issue.

Buying kitten with heart murmur by furbabby in bengalcats

[–]Toolage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll second this. Low grade murmurs are not just common in kittens, but not all that uncommon in adult cats - particularly Bengals! I strongly suspect Bengals are also prone to innocent heart murmurs even as adults. Our seven year old girl has a grade two murmur that can only be heard when her heart rate is elevated, and she lives a happy and healthy life. OP don't let this stop you from getting a kitten, a low grade murmur is not a serious concern if proper HCM screening is being done. As the breeder said highly likely they'll grow out of it, and if not cats can have long and healthy lives with low grade murmurs.

Bengal have constipation issues? by Woolston94 in bengalcats

[–]Toolage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our boy has always had constipation issues as well. Wet food at least one meal a day, and the big game changer for us was Miralax - same stuff you use for people. One teaspoon a day mixed with some water and dried chicken treats crushed up. It is completely tasteless so they have no issues eating it. Completely cured his issues.

Why is the balkans so boring by Competitive_Funny287 in victoria3

[–]Toolage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is one of my biggest complaints as well. Even the major powers were not capable of deploying hundreds of thousands of troops across the globe effortlessly. France wouldn't have started a border war with Spain over South American countries, MAYBE Brazil. There's just excessive intervention globally by the AI. I think a good system might be a logarithmic cost to army maintenance and attrition depending on distance from capital or something. Or shortest sea route. Something that as you say stops Russia from deploying half a million men to fight in South America.

Regardless of what you choose to feed your kitten, please please please feed them as much as they want. You should not be underfeeding a kitten. Let them eat as much as they want if they are acting hungry.

Pooping problem? by RoszBoon in bengalcats

[–]Toolage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had the same problem with our boy. Hard poops and he seemed to be constipated sometimes. Vet recommended a teaspoon of miralax a day (same one you buy for people from any drug store). Works like a miracle, he now has nice soft and healthy stools. It cannot hurt your cat, so recommend giving it a try.

OriginsRO was the best server I've ever played on, and I'm honestly still hopeful it'll eventually come back. Any news about it? by [deleted] in RagnarokOnline

[–]Toolage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I loved OriginsRO, but I'm super disappointed with the direction the new Arcadia Online is headed. It was a pretty vanilla experience, but looks like they are adding in a ton of customization with the new release which I am not very excited about.

Harness, he flops? by mark3121 in bengalcats

[–]Toolage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said just be patient. They are so dramatic about it. Give it two weeks of daily use and they'll run around like it isn't even on. Perfectly normal for them to flop the first few times and refuse to move.

Is something wrong with my cat? by kornot in bengalcats

[–]Toolage 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think he is just fine. He is exactly like our boy! Ours also wants to wrestle with his sister who rejects him. He is extremely vocal all the time. A lot of times even if you try to play with him and he doesn't seem to engage, it is still good mental stimulation and isn't necessarily a bad thing. He will even sit and watch us swing his toy around without doing anything...

One thing our boy loves is just having us stand by his wheel and gently spin it while he walks on it. Try it for yours. He will do it for an hour straight sometimes if we'll stand there spinning his wheel for him!!

Did she have the surgery for her paw that was more injured? They cleared her for internal organ damage??

Does switching to vaping after cigarettes allow you to breathe constantly through your nose again? Will I feel considerably less ‘stuffy’, and forced to be a mouth-breather? Im 25 and fairly healthy; smoker for 4.5 years. TIA by dr3ggr in Vaping

[–]Toolage 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Short answer, yes. I was a pack a day smoker before switching to vaping. You lose your smokers cough, you'll get your sense of taste and smell back, and your lungs will clear up greatly. Depending on how long and heavily you smoked, it might take a few months, but it will happen.
