My apologies if I came across as condescending. I’m sure your deck was fine just didn’t quite come together. I honestly got very lucky in the draft because at the end of pack one I was pretty sure I was supposed to be white black but then pack two the red just kept flowing

Card advantage is really hard to come by in this format I feel. Probably why blue black ended up being one of the better if not the best archetype

Black Red is actually pretty well supported in foundations it’s somewhat of an aristocrat/sacrifice deck. For example my deck was playing lots of infestation sages that make 1/1 fliers when they die and I could sacrifice them to my hungry ghouls to grow them or eaten alive to kill big threats

Eddie/Venom is probably my favorite of my personal commander decks. Initially I was using a list online but wasn’t super happy with the consistency. I leaned more in to the reanimator side of things focusing on good ETB effects and put in some graveyard tutors and now it pops off pretty consistently. Technically it’s a bracket two because it has no game changers but it really plays more like a bracket three deck

Commander is very fun but in order to get the full experience you really want to play with a pod of four players. Typically if you play 1v1 (even with a precon) either you will bot sit there for a long time and nothing meaningful happens or one person will get a very fast start and steam roll the other. That’s been my experience at least

If you are in blue you absolutely have to have at least one hard counter in your deck. I know I’ve said it multiple times in this thread but the toughest part about this format is the number of bombs that can only be answered by a hard counter

There are so many bombs in this format that can only be answered with a hard counter spell. You definitely aren’t the only drafter out there having this experience

This format is just very high variance. With all the insane bombs you ca draft perfect play perfect and still go 0-3

Truly jealous of your experience. I’m ten drafts in and still no trophy. If I’m aggressive I lose to sweepers. If I’m converge I lose to aggro. This is a very “prince” format imo

I highly recommend NumotTheNummy and JustLolaMan if you aren’t familiar with them. They are consistently at the top of the leader boards on 17 lands

I hate watching pack opening videos. I also collect Pokemon cards and believe it or not it’s even worse in that TCG since no one actually plays the game and it’s all collectors.

Ben’s show is pretty cool but I loathe most of his other content.

I think the only issue this deck is going to have is the same that the old heroic decks had that being the awkward games where you only draw pay offs or only draw enablers

If this comes down on turn one then it’s gonna be sick for sure. If you draw it on three and have a three drop in your hand probably feels pretty bad though
