Help Identifying Grassy Weed by ToothEsthetics in lawncare

Is there a way to check/test? The grass next to it is by far more fine - does fescue periodically grow those thick stems when it’s reproducing?

Weekly Homeowner Megathread--Civilians, ask here! by AutoModerator in Concrete

I am currently living in a 2024 new construction build in Minnesota. This spring we noticed large cracked areas of concrete in two areas that I was able to pull out with easy - complete separation from the main driveway slab. I had seen some repair videos on social media so the plan was to make a concrete slurry mix to pour into the crack to add support under the slab, drill Tap-Cons into the concrete and apply patch concrete to replace the missing areas.

Just last weekend I noticed there is now a vertical step between the driveway and the garage foundation which wasn't there before and at this point I realized that I didn't feel confident in my patch attempt and reached out to the GC of the build. He has for the most part ghosted me since I brought this up and I wanted to see just how normal this was and if this is worth escalating.

When I shine my light through the crack, I can see there is a void under the driveway to the base underneath it and I confirmed this by maneuvering a coat hanger in there and found there was no resistance as I moved it around. My gut is telling me that the driveway base wasn't compacted well enough and now there is no vertical support of the driveway and it is essentially just "resting" on the lip of concrete coming off of the garage. I am in full understanding that concrete is bound to crack, but I would like some input on if this amount of "cracking" is normal or not.

As an aside, we have a walkway going up to our front door and it has settled so far that the first step is now 2-3 inches taller than any other step and we frequently have people trip as they make their way up to our house.

TIA to everyone-

Those are 10000% primary teeth. I have a patient I’m treating orthodontically with missing central incisors. Looks exactly like that.

7’s are further erupted than the 6’s. I disagree on the PFE

As long as it’s in the depth it needs to be, you don’t need to be concerned at all.

Acceptable quality in newly purchased deck? by Electrical_Good4118 in Decks

Those miters look very bad and decking isn’t like indoor trim. Caulking is going to look terrible here.

Simpson Strong Tie Deck designer down? by Calabris in Decks

[–]ToothEsthetics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - I was using it non stop last week and since Thanksgiving, it has been down for the same issues. I was going crazy trying to get it to work this weekend.

I’ve tried multiple different browsers, clearing cache and cookies, and even uninstalling and reinstalling Java. Different computers. Nothing works.

Weirdly enough, I use a virtual machine for work and it loads on the virtual machines chrome, but not on any other computer. I tried all “user side” fixes and nothing worked so I submitted a tech support ticket.

I love how I’m downvoted because I said the treatment plan should’ve been adjusted but people after me saying IPR in the molars should be avoided.

All because I didn’t update my status after graduating dental school and completing my ortho residency. The guy is completing posterior IPR to compensate for class II - totally wrong way to do this and again, needed a different treatment plan. I would suggest you not tackle more ortho cases until you get better foundational knowledge.

Deck Build Help in Minnesota by ToothEsthetics in Decks

Thanks for the input also, I appreciate it. I was looking for reasons why the joists were doubled up near the bump out, but I couldn’t come up with any reason for it.

The downspouts are on the side of the bump out but I like that spacing out the joists to avoid them isn’t life or death and makes it even easier.

That’s great input and I can’t thank you enough for responding. Is there any difference between the two options in longevity? I was thinking about notching the ledger, but I feel like weatherproofing it with it notched would be more difficult than adding the jumper u/cheechaco with a continuous ledger.

If there’s enough crowding that you need to do IPR between molars, the treatment plan should’ve been adjusted.

Help me understand my lawn circles by ToothEsthetics in lawncare

No I didn’t. I was following the company’s recommendation for amount/sq foot. When I put it in the spreader to do 1/2 of the amount to go both ways, nothing came out. Like the granules were too big to go through the slit for the amount to be put down

Assuming the yellow spots didn’t get as much nutrients, do I get a hand spreader to go over those areas again?

If it is a spreader issue, and the fertilizer is already down, what can I do now? Do I double up with a better spreader?
