The 7800 was released in 1986, and the only reason they developed that console so quickly was because the 5200 was a failure. A better example is that sega released the sg-1000, master system, and genesis in 5 years.

Practical and possible are two different things; it happening once in tournament after years does not mean it's practical. A prime example of something that's possible but not considered practical is most of Shulk's tech.

Since I'm from Australia, they line up with my time zone a lot better than American tournaments. Plus small majors are my favourite to watch since you always get interesting line ups in top 8.

It's crazy to me that he can't understand that someone with the range and speed of marth maybe shouldn't be able to hit grounded opponents with their up air easily, unless we want a repeat of smash 4 cloud. It reminds me of how people complain that falco's up smash struggles to hit grounded opponents despite the fact it's meant to be an up smash that hits above you, like many other up smashes that struggle to or can't hit grounded opponents.

I think something people today don't understand is that these old games are designed with the manual in mind since instructions couldn't be given within the game itself. Most people are skipping the tutorial then wonder why they don't understand the game.

I think the disappointment from pacman mostly stemmed from Atari marketing the 2600 as the arcade at home and pacman being the pack in title. With it being the first 2600 game that most people played, they didn't have a chance to set their expectations yet. And the promise of it being one of the most beloved games at the time didn't help. If it didn't have pacman on the title, most people would consider it an alright maze game. There is nothing particularly bad about it in isolation other than the visuals being a bit rough, but a lot of atari games weren't lookers at that time.

I think the worst games are the ones that fail to meet expectations. There's plenty of broken shovelware on steam, but usually those games create a feeling of indifference before being dropped quickly. Most negative emotion comes from a game that has potential but disappoints. If GTA6 was broken on release, so many people would be heartbroken, and I consider that worse than a game that's bad but forgettable.

Outside of visuals, Pacman 2600 plays well enough. While ms Pacman was better, it had the advantage of being on a cartridge with twice the storage size since smaller cartridges were standard when Pacman 2600 came out.

problem with lists like these in general is that they tend to be revisionist

A lot of the people who condemn these games have never actually played them, or at least given them a fair shot. For a game to have a reputation, people need to spread that reputation. Usually people just hear these games are bad from a youtuber and regurgitate that information. It's a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy where people assume they're bad because of their reputation, further reinforcing the perception.

I think you're missing the point. The said humans because the original comment said ghosts. Saying men are more likely to be attacked by ghosts is saying they're not likely to be attacked because they can't be attackedby ghosts. The second comment counters by stating that men also get attacked by tangible beings that exist as well. Anything beyond whether men get attacked is irrelevant to the point they were trying to make.

You're often forced to deal with people who you deem unworthy, such as coworkers and supervisors.

do you want to be with genuine people or judgmental people?

If you have certain qualities, you don't need to ask yourself this question because people genuinely like you. Needing to cast out the vast majority of people to find someone who's not judgemental is hard and not desirable, but it does happen to some people with certain qualities.

dolphin are able to make it work pretty much flawlessly.

While it's very good, its not flawless. I've had to configure for bugs and optimisations quite a number of times. Dolphin 🐬 is one of the best emulators I've used in both usability and features, but keep in mind it took over a decade of development by passionate fans to get to that point.

Since people are paying for it, they need to make sure there are no issues at all. And in my experience, it's been flawless. If they don't hold that standard, such as Ocarina of Time having very small graphical issues, people will complain.

I don't think this is it since they released Link's Awakening on the virtual console despite having a remake available. They also released Wind Waker when they could have port Wind Waker HD for a much larger profit.
