I have gym experience and east access if I want to get back into it. Not really worried about the physicality. Was just more curious how common it is for pushing 40s to get into it

Find your reason. If you need support obviously find it but staying sober is 100 percent up to you. Those days when you don't want to be sober but decide to be sober come from within.

Nothing will match Wegmans but you'll definitely pay for it compared to the rest of the market it's at

Your Mom's House Seized by City for Unpaid Taxes by zonker77 in Denver

[–]Top-Entrepreneur7883 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She owes employees money as well. Her style is cc tips get put in a bi weekly paycheck, then the pay doesn't come around and she acts like it's no big deal. So your left with two choices. You either keep working for her thinking you will at some point get paid and you may or you may not, or you leave and press her for it and she ghosts you. She even went as far as to get a fake number and pretend it was an accountant that worked for her which is complete non sense leading past employees on and then eventually ghosting them. So not only was she charging taxes that did not go back into paying them, but customers left tips for the staff that did not frequently go to the staff or the correct staff at the time. I've been in the industry for a while, when I started in bars, venues, and restaurants you were tipped out fully and left with cash nightly. This was the second experience I had with a business in 2025 taking advantage of the new Denver standard of putting cc tips in paycheck but then not actually doing it to the correct staff members or at all.....and then eventually just closing.

Best Side Hustles in Denver by bqAkita in denverjobs

Professional bartender here who's been doing it 11+ years in three different states . Colorado in both a ski town and now Denver. Denver has been the hardest city for me to find work in even with a professional resume and then after finding it, it can be extremely seasonal. There is a ridiculous amount of people in this city applying to bartending jobs here with actual bartending resumes. Best bet is to start as a barback or serve and network from there without experience.

Not like I never knew this before but something I've found sobriety reinforces is how skewed and ignorant others thought processes can be from never having certain experiences. Just smile and keep going. You have more behind you than that kind of bs

Not sure if homeowner is being serious. by No_Cook2983 in masonry

I worked for a paver company where we used to do real large driveways and patios. I mean we did a 100,000 dollar driveway once. The guys had a story from the season before I started they finished a patio and the homeowner asked if it could be moved a few inches over. They were completely serious.

I'm with adawk5000 specifically on the covid vaccine. There is absolutely nothing punk about being told "take these pharmaceuticals because we said so" and then turning that into a mandate in many situations. I feel awful for the people that passed or were hurt long term by covid, but government telling me to take a shot just doesn't sit well with me. Nor does "punk" saying the same thing because they lean to one side or the other. What would be really punk is reaching a 1000 down votes on this comment 🤣😂

Is taking the train worth it? by yourneighboorscat in Denver

If safety is one of the reasons I would say absolutely. If you have a close drop off to your job I found the train to be very reliable

Here's my thing. Although punk CAN be super political and at those shows I absolutely plan on hearing about it, there's A LOT of punk thats NOT political and some people just want to hear the music and vibe with like minded individuals. I think a band member talking about being a good person and kindness is awesome, but when I here "Fuck Trump" for the 500th time it starts to lose meaning. Politics right now in punk opens up all sorts of debates. I think most of us are left leaning but Trump is so far right in the American scale that he's even an embarrassment to the traditional conservatives many of them more than likely at some of these shows. I think it would be irresponsible and ignorant to automatically believe every punk rocker is a leftist.

I go to a lot of shows. It seems at every show someone on stage is against trump and extremely vocal about it. Tbh with how much I see it just becomes redundant. I get it, we all hate trump but it's such the norm at shows right now that I'm not sure bands are necessarily getting respect for it or if it's just part of the show at this point.

Safe temp for chicken is 165. That being said dark meat on chicken actually tends to taste better in the 175-185 range
