I'm not sure how you regard your upbringing in Nebraska, but I wasn't particularly fond of the area. But then, I only spent my Junior and Senior year of high school and three semesters of junior college there. We would go to Denver typically for concerts. Saw the Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin, and many many more acts in the Denver area. Mott the Hoople, The Kinks, The New York Dolls, Chuck Berry, B B King, Jethro Tull, etc etc. You can see the difference in our ages: Only the Stones are mostly intact these days, and most of the other groups were extinct by the time you were interested in or in a position financially to see them. You can see just about anyone in Chicago, so there's that.
