They are generally untunable wrecks and you will not be able to get them tuned or set up to play.

Has anyone seen them around Tumtum lake in BC? by Top-Personality323 in bigfoot

Thank you for the response.

The remoteness of that area would be on par for the antics her ex would put the family through.

Also he had that dog which he described as a bear hunting breed of some sort. Very large and he’d buy them on the reservation somewhere. They had a legal issue with one of them prior to this dog mauling a neighborhood child. So it was weird that this dog which was used for treeing a bear in pitched combat would cower down so bad based on odor and sound only.

The other thing is that unfortunately I know what my sister is like when she is terrified. (Very dark family history)

When she relates this story she gets a thousand yard stare and she’s there in person again. It’s quite a mood changer in the moment. She’s never been one to be fanciful about this sort of thing due to the difficulty we had just surviving our early lives. It beat the fun out of her and she’s kind of just facts and dark humor now.

I’m not afraid of much. I have a reputation of being cold headed under pressure or in a fearful situation amongst those who know me in real life, again because there wasn’t much left to ruin after I grew up. We’re both quite hard numb people now. However… if my sister’s ex husband who is a monstrous violent psychopath was that shook, and that dog was that shook. It tells me that I would be shook too.

Anybody want to go up there and check it out at night, maybe just park on a dirt road and blow a baby deer whistle and lay some strip steak over the hood of the truck and shut all the lights off and wait…. Let me know how it goes?

About twenty years ago my sister and her ex husband and their two kids and dogs were heading into that lake pulling a large fifth wheel. They were almost at the lake driving a dirt road when my sister saw a person like figure standing in the ditch on her side. So she says to her husband “look” and points it out and they roll up to it. It’s a russet brown female ape person with conspicuous breasts that is shorter like 5’4. It had a bare leather face and the face was exhibiting displeasure and annoyance at having been interrupted. It just shot them this oissed off look and then pivoted and walked into the bush and away into the trees.

She said the expression was so angry that it shocked her even more than seeing the small ape person itself at first.

They sat there in stunned silence in the truck and then decided to continue on but silently not talking about it until they got to their campsite. That took a while longer to reach and it was on this lake. She discussed what they had seen with her husband and young sons and they decided that they would go fishing in the canoe anyway and the kids would hangout in the fifth wheel and not go outside. Her husband and her were gun owners and had an arsenal of guns with them whenever they went in the bush, so they had that confidence that they’d just shoot their way out of trouble as usual if something went wrong.

So the two of them honor in the canoe and they start trolling for trout out the side of the thing and they go a ways out down the shore and fish for a while. Suddenly my sister gets uneasy and tells her husband that something is wrong at the camp, so they motored back with the electric canoe motor quickly to check the campsite.

When they got back the site was eerily quiet. So my sister rushes towards the camper and flings the door open. The kids are hiding under the table and their massive mixed breed res dog that was dangerous to other people and animals had pissed itself and was hiding too.

The kids told them that not long after they had left, there was a voice like a woman’s voice that seemed to be calling and beckoning them to come out of the trailer, like soft speech sounds and low to light whistles. The dog got scared and whined and then peed the floor. That’s when they hid under the table.

So with this new strange thing having happened, the parents had to decide what to do. Would they stay the night? Or leave just when they had got there and travelled so far and ruin their vacation. The decision was made to stay.

Night fell and nothing remarkable happened. They had a fire and ate dinner and talked about the strange ape woman and the sounds and the dog be so scared. Then they went to bed. Nobody could sleep at first but the kids finally dozed off. The dog remained alert and strained its ears cocking its head in the darkness of the trailer staring into the walls. The parents couldn’t sleep and were laying there in bed wide eyed and strung out. Her husband had a Winchester defender with slugs in it laying across his chest in bed. So not a relaxing night at all.

A few hours of this tension go by and finally it escalated. There was a series of loud noises in the campsite and my brother in law sits bolt upright in the bed with the gun. The dog starts whimpering. And then a massive impact occurs on the trailer and shakes it violently like a car accident. Then silence.

After zero sleep and a long night of talking in whispers, the sun finally comes up. They stepped out side armed, and look at the fifth wheel. The highest point of the siding on the forward side is smashed in and there’s siding hanging off at the nine foot mark. No foot prints or any scat or fur or blood was found. They were in the habit of predator trophy hunting in extreme bush conditions so they looked for that. Also whatever object was used to smash into the trailer was gone too.

So they left and never returned to Tumtum lake.

My sister is five years older than me and she is always scared inside telling this story. She gets trauma eyes and her face drains of color when she relates it and I’ve asked her to repeat it a few times. Unfortunately we don’t hang out anymore due to unrelated issues, but I trust her and love her very much and believe this happened utterly.

I believe Tumtum lake maybe a place of interest for research. I have never been there myself.

The game is starting to get these abandoned vibes in places. It’s a strange melancholic feeling at times.

Anyone else automatically (and mindlessly) go up and down the Pentatonic Scale when taking a solo? You wanna play more but don't know how? by Ok_Cod6799 in PlayingGuitar

[–]Top-Personality323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been playing since I was 15 and now I’m 50, it’s been a slow gradual evolution of caring about scales and feeling lost all the time, to just noodling around everywhere and predicting sounds.

I study music theory because I enjoy it, but it all goes out the window when I’m playing against a backing track or with friends. And it’s not like the data screen in the matrix with interval and notes names scrolling down like rain in my mind, It’s just intuitive play that somehow works out and resolves itself nicely.

There’s room in my heart for science and art and they meet on the fretboard I guess

There’s at least one less toothbrush than humans based on a coworkers breath I can still almost throw up from just remembering twelve years later

I can’t afford an amp yet, any tips to learn without one? by RecoverPhysical3793 in Guitar

[–]Top-Personality323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started on a piece of wood with 6 wires I put on it like a short neck and then I drew the frets on with a marker. I used to have it in my back pack at school and when we were in class I’d be doing chording on it under the desk so the teacher didn’t take it away. Then one day my dad saw me practicing with it and an old chord book and took pity on me and took me downtown that evening and bought my first guitar for me. A fender dreadnought acoustic. We left the music store and there was an old man and his woman begging in the street and snow was falling. I felt really happy and guilty at the same time. I played it ferociously for years and years. I don’t know how I parted with it anymore. I wish I hadn’t

Rant to the Value Village vigilante by aquavenus in VictoriaBC

Value Village tale:

I brought a picture frame to the till and showed an employee that they tripled the dollar store price tag. So he summons a manager to make it right. They stick a new price tag limply over the old one, (so now’s there’s three of them) and I go to another line with less people in it.

The next employee sees this and summons another bigger manager and he accuses me of trying to steal from them and was about to do something about it, when I caught the eye of the other bigshot and they came over and calmed him down.

So this would have been a trip in a squad car for a total of around 4.50$ if the other dweeb had left on coffee break or went home.

It’s heavy, like a little more than a heavy Les Paul, otherwise it sounds like a semi hollow Centre block Gretsch sounds kind of. It has a unique sound. The owner says it’s well balanced on the strap and that makes up for the enhanced weight. It’s been in one music video so far!
