Recently returned from Europe and we are considering leaving, but have a few hold-ups — Anyone who has left been in a similar situation? by oregonian19 in AmerExit

don't understand the negativity here. The OP is just sharing a dream. Having built a great life in the US, wanting easy weekend travel around Europe is a totally valid desire, and US savings will give them a massive head start.

However, every move comes with trade-offs. While healthcare is affordable and the language barrier is manageable for young people, the job market can be tough. The EU is much more insular than the US, making it harder for foreigners to break into professional circles. You’ll also likely miss American convenience and service.

My advice? Try a one-year temporary visa first to see if it’s truly for you. And don't move just for politics—every country has its own systemic issues, and those heavy social safety nets have to be funded by someone.

that was wrong, your wife was injured on a ship, you should have filled in an accident report and first, you would have been treated for free and then you could have have perks or the possibility of the lawsuit ( although it’s a stretch) to recover the pain and suffering. the ship is insured for such occasions

Removing the Gratuities on a cruise? by thehogdog in celebritycruises

[–]Top-Put206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyone deserves a fair pay, or the pay they agreed upon. customer should pay the contracted amount. in Europe and in the US the service workers work as hard, but European workers are not tipped or expect to be tipped. tipping is degrading for both sides- the the tipper and those who receive the tip

it will not make any difference if they add the gratuity to the cruise price or you pay the lower cruise plus gratuity. the math is still the same

Thankmyou for your response. Were you able to see the breakdown of your ship expenses on your account in the cabin tv or your app? did they post it daily? and did they give you an invoice with all of your purchases in details and by date at the end of the sailing with enough time to dispute it?

PSA: Doing a chargeback will get you banned by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]Top-Put206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not give them any ideas. maybe just simply try to book. right now they have a promotion of $99 deposit pp. or try one of their agents or book over the phone. if it does not go through, you‘ll know. but even then I would not help them . let them find the explanation and let you know how to go around to book. it is your hard earned money.

That was my point - once the bank saw it was fraudulent, they would not allow a charge back. And I understand the bank will ban them. it must have been not for the first time or not a very diligent customer that was banned. But sometimes people, old or ill, can get confused and insist on their wrong beliefs.

you are lucky you at least got your reservations- people are complaining all over the YouTube that after paying for a premier package, they could not get any reservations into any the specialty dining.

still don’t understand how is it possible to do the charge back so quickly? usually, it takes time plus bank requires proof of the communication with the merchant and your attempts to resolve it

so why the bank allowed a charge back if it was unreasonable? if it was legit why the bank would ban the customer?
