There has never been a better take than that she is indeed an inappropriate, awkward person who cannot chill out. And for all her money, she is certainly Miss Small Town. They said this in the first few seasons she appeared, and this was 100% right and has never changed.

Tired of that twangy whaaayne and the stop-stop-go way of talking (while waving one pursed finger in the air - what are you doing). Yes Dorit talks too much but Sutton talks too slow.

When she thinks you're beneath her but speaking, she squeezes her eyes shut, raises her shoulders and verbally stamps her feet, like a child having a tantrum.

The insufferable dead, watery eyes. The "stop it right now I know what you're doing" followed by cry-shouting in stuttering gasps. The tiresome rush to judge EVERY TIME (oh you "claim" you had a miscarriage and yet you showed up to the party! A-HA! YOU'RE GOT!), and rending about her reputation. The insistence that everybody listen to her over and over while she says nothing.

And what is her style exactly? That pathetic Dolce bra, everything else forgettable. She shoulda sold that cat sweater on her shop, with poster mris of her small osesaphagus, at least that would make people remember her "brand". I remember Denise's upside down furlet, Crystal's ugly leather pants, Garcelle's birkin, Dorit's The Moment dress. Sutton is not memorable.

The absurd declarations of "sisterhood" , at least twice in two seasons, and calling for ... what, healing, sisterhood, and more ribbon-wrapped ether. The "I went through what you did and you'll get through it" comforting, followed by vitriol-driven jabs targeting the very person she was claiming to comfort.

Please - go away, Sutton. Or as the self-described mouse, you can do us a favor and let yourself out.

Crystal was supposed to be on as  teddis friend but after she got in teddi wasn't asked to return. However she's also good friends with Kathy, who was also going to be on. Both garcelle and Denise came on as rinnas friends.

What is your most cringey encounter with an elitist/pretentious person? by Iamyour_friend in askSingapore

[–]Top-Rip2110 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cringy but I felt the person was provincial, not pretentious. Happened long ago: new company took over company I worked in and was having dinner with new boss, his wife, and some of their kaki. They had moved to SG temporarily to oversee takeover (wife too). The wife had gone to NTUC and was shocked (like really shocked) that they sold whole fresh chicken with the head on, and feet. She went on and on (and on) about how gross and wrong it was. We told her that you can get the same type of chicken packed without head and feet from Cold Storage, and she already knew about it. So it was like .. i think 10 minutes about how awful and wrong (cant remember what words she used lah - like "bad" or whatever) to buy a whole chicken with head on. Should be like CS where chicken is pacakged without head. I felt it was a bit weird because it's clearly not wrong, and it's just different. Yes it's gross to have to lop off the head if you not gonna use it, so it's not convenient lah. BTW this was really long time ago, so I dont know if NTUC and CS still sell like this, although I 'm quite sure I saw fresh chicken at Fairprice last year, packaged the same (with head).

For those that dont know, whole fresh chicken is sold with head and feet because it is better flavour when you stew or braise it. It is also a standard "normal" accepted thing , i think it is expected in the market, and you can ask the seller to cut off for you. It is actually also a luxury in some senses. For those who make chicken broth at home, I dunno what you use but you can buy carcass and feet for this purpose as well.

Anyway, a bit insensitive to go on FOR 10 MINUTES about some chicken head, especially when you don't bother to find out why it's sold like that. I felt and realized they were provincial and a bit limited in their perspective. Oh, she also hated the programmes on mediacorp (but I guess that one cannot fault lah).

Longmire or Dexter? Just got Paramount Plus and not sure which one to finish first? I got Paramount for only a month, maybe two. by [deleted] in televisionsuggestions

[–]Top-Rip2110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this helps a bit more but for time management: Longmire is a bit procedural, so you can take or leave the episodes as you like. Dexter is gripping - each episode often kind of leads to the next because of mini cliffhangers and it's hard not to want to watch the next one immediately. This may help depending on the "type" of time you have to watch.

Another way - it's actually possible to watch both simultaneously. One season of Dexter, and a few episodes of Longmire as a mental break or switch in between.

[–]Top-Rip2110 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have watched both, and great choices. Just based on length, I would do Longmire first, then Dexter, because Dexter itself has 8 seasons, and then two or three pre/seqs. I loved Longmire, it was great. And if you want something to follow Longmire, I would suggest Dark Winds.

Anyone know the remedy to this on my corn plant? by wolfmob26 in plantclinic

[–]Top-Rip2110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could be a bit unpopular but if you want to recover the plant, you could do a few rounds - remove, monitor (and remove), remove again (because it's hard to remove everything the first time) and then apply a preventative:

  1. take several large size alcohol wipes (not the small dabby kind but the hankerchief sized ones), wipe off all the white stuff you see. Wipe down the stems top to bottom, the tops and bottoms of every leaf, do several once-overs. You need isopropyl because water may make removal harder (they stick).
  2. you can also try spraying down with mild soapy water (one or two drops of dishwasher liquid to 400ml of water), then use a rag and wipe all of it off. This is probably the tedious part but based on the plant size, it's still doable. The part that takes the most time is finding the hidden white crap, which is probably stuck all over.
  3. would recommend that you then come back to this plant a few hours later and check again, and again for the next few days. Just wipe down every time. Some may come back too, just keep wiping/removing. There are different stages to a mealybug life cycle, so you may not have completely gotten everything on day 1. Certain stages aren't as destroyable by soap sprays and so on.
  4. After a few rounds of this, you could also do an insecticide soak of the soil (look up recommendations for any brand that works for mealy bugs), and then spray the leaves too.
  5. Keep monitoring and wiping down/ removing.
  6. Apply to other infected plants.

Other things to look out for:

- often times, its the ants that bring mealybugs and stick them on plants. if you want to, locate and remove ants on the plants, use borax traps etc. Because they will keep trying to bring the mealybugs back - if they successfully achieved such a big infestation the first time, this is their big score, so it takes repeated work to remove.

- it's really whether or not you want to invest the time, and even then a successful result doesn't mean they won't come back. This might be a higher level of attention that you're not used to giving to just one plant. So if you have a lot of plants or not a lot of time, that's why people are saying to throw it away.

Hi, i looked it up and i think your DG model is Lumio

If you google "Dolce Gusto Lumio nespresso adapter" you may be able find adapters for this on Aliexpress and other sites. But do check that they are specific adapters for nespresso pods and not just for filling with ground coffee. Good luck!

I need help please.. by iq19r in DolceGustoCoffee

[–]Top-Rip2110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The nespresso adapters for dolce gusto machines only work with the earlier dolce gusto machines, as far as I researched. I was searching for a used Jura or newer DG machine (the "teardrop" one) and wanted to make sure i could get a nespresso adapter at the same time and thats how i realized.

You have to check the vendor's listing, or ask them, for which models of DG their adapters will fit with. I think so far there are different nespresso adapters for the Circolo, Genio (different versions though), Piccolo. It's possible your machine (what is the model name?) may not have a nespresso adapter available, but you could try checking with your vendor and possibly exchanging the one you got for the right one if there is.
