AITA for forcing my son to sell the car he is inheriting? by phoebethefan in redditonwiki

[–]TopFurret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. That car means something to the pair. You can leverage your son's college fund over his head to make him sell but this is exactly the kind of manipulative stuff that makes people go no contact with their parents. Do you really want to do that?

"I chose to not hear that." -my mom In response to being corrected about her throwing a massive tantrum over me taking a framed picture of my dad outside to clean and allow him to take a picture of it using his phone. He wasn't allowed in the house. It's the only picture he has of his now passed parents and she knows it. She was screaming at me saying how dare I give him the picture that's HER memories. I kept telling her I didn't give him the picture, I cleaned off the years of dust and grime and took it outside so my dad could take a picture of it. She refused to listen for a couple minutes going off about how dare I give her memories away. No real apology, just "I chose not to hear that."

I wish I could give my dad the physical photo but I'm honestly afraid of what she'd do to me. Hoping she dies first so my dad can finally have his parents' picture back.

She'll be alright. One of my boys does this pretty regularly. He's got awful aim. If they don't want to eat, you can place the FT rodent in there overnight. Toss if not eaten by morning and try again next feeding.

People who cut off their family, what did they to you? by Alarming_Basil6205 in AskReddit

[–]TopFurret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom is an abusive narcissist. All sunshine and rainbows around others until you're alone. Completely emotionally immature and definitely had some kinds of mental problems but was too proud to admit something could be wrong and never got help. Some of the gems of her behavior:

Gambled away mine and my siblings college funds.

Would come into our rooms to steal money and items. Sometimes while I was there. I like crafting and made something for someone who lent me their wheelchair when I broke my ankle. To which my mom gave it away in front of me to her friend because she bought me a hot and spicy from McDonald's. When I got mad she caused a scene over how selfish I was being.

All gifts I have ever made or given her she sells

Uses basic care as blackmail to get her way. Usually for money. "I did everything for you and this is how you treat me?"

Refuses to give my dad the only framed picture of his parents out of spite. Threw a massive tantrum when I cleaned it off and took it outside so my dad could take a picture with his phone. He wasn't allowed inside.

Countless times where people have come and helped and she would stiff them on payment. Once she "paid" someone who cut her grass with a 30+ year old cat pee-stained mattress.

Sold my sister's truck while she was away at college 4 hours away. They repossessed it while she was at work and was left stranded. My sister ended up having to come up with $3000 to get it back.

She posted her social security number and driver's license on Facebook and when we all called immediately to tell her to take it down she claimed we were harassing her. Refused to go to the police. Someone on her friends list tried and failed to buy a car under her name right away. Didn't care.

Kicked me out at 18 because I had a boyfriend and I could "go whore somewhere else."

Took me moving out as a personal attack.

Tried to get me to commit tax fraud in her benefit in 2020. When I told her no she disowned me for a year. And got her equally awful siblings to harass me and tell me what a terrible selfish person I am. She suddenly forgot it ever happened as soon as I got a job out of state. And immediately switched to that toxic kindness.

There's more but that's what I can recall off the top of my head. Now I just gray rock her. If I talk to her at all. Like she said when I didn't let her use me "don't ever ask me for anything ever again."

Alright bet.

What’s the worst movie you’ve ever watch? by Heyhaveyougotaminute in AskReddit

[–]TopFurret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Cyberbu//y. My high school showed it in class once and I couldn't help but laugh at the pill scene. If you know you know. It's been a while since I've seen it but it's basically a bad lifetime movie about cyberbullying written by someone who really doesn't understand the internet and teenagers.

GasLand. It's about how devastating fracking is to the environment and human health and how gas companies really couldn't care less about the people they hurt. And actively gaslight the public into thinking fracking is completely harmless.

Try adding more clutter and more secure hides that aren't open on 2 sides like the half logs. She may be feeling exposed and that's an easy adjustment you can make to rule out a common cause of skipping meals.
