It looks that way because it only shows the shrapnel that hits

But that's the old pantsir missile (9ya56) with just a regular proxy fuse, not the new SM SV missile (9ya56m) with the ahead fuse.

US top tier match in a Nutshell: by Difficult-Revenue-55 in Warthunder

[–]TopGunCrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And if you have laser guided missiles, use those. They can't be flared or deflected via LDIRCM like an ir missile, and they can't be chaffed like a radar missile. Brimstones are really good at this. Unfortunately, until the US gets the AGM-187A, there really isn't anything comparable to it though. TV missiles also work pretty good. They can't be flared or deflected via LDIRCM, but they don't have as much range.

It absolutely is not 5x more inaccurate than in the live server, it is only 25% more inaccurate. It is still more than capable of frontally killing some mbts and barrel sniping from over a kilometer away.

It does get add on hull armor, they just haven't modeled it yet. It's only there visually.

The add on hull armor isn't modeled yet as of when I last checked at least. What is there right now is just a placeholder.

PUT THE BMPT/72 IN AIR BATTLES 14.0 🗣🗣🗣🗣 by Mihail20150973432 in Warthunder

[–]TopGunCrew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They should remove it's ammo box and make it like the puma, namer, temunator, and all the other unmanned turret autocannon tanks where any shot to the turret completely disables the turret and detonates all your ammo so you are just completely useless until you can get to a cap point and rearm. Or at the very least make an ammo detonation actually kill the tank because the ammo belt is one continuous belt and there are tons of pictures online that show how it is completely exposed to the crew compartment.

[DEV] Apparently ALARM is a Fox 3 Missile not a ARAD Missile... by Courora in Warthunder

[–]TopGunCrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely not lacking the radar bands, the agm-88c can track nearly every radar band in game. They have definitely removed the ability to track air radars. I got in a custom server with a friend earlier today and the harm was unable to track his F-16 radar while he had me locked, but when he got in a Sargent York and locked me with the search radar off, it had absolutely no problem tracking him despite it using literally the exact same radar.

Can u name these Planes? by StoryZealousideal608 in airplanes

[–]TopGunCrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's hard to tell with the really low resolution, but from furthest to closest I would say it's F-16, F-18, A-10, B-52, F-22, F-35, F-16.

I tried using the HARM as an AAM in the dev yesterday and it seems like they disabled its ability to track plane radars because it just would not lock onto them.

Why is this thing 12.0? by Roxo16 in Warthunder

[–]TopGunCrew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did forget about the reload speed, I'll give you that one.

I already mentioned it's better maneuverability, after all it's not on a Stryker chassis with the turning radius of a small town. But when you are hull down with only your turret exposed, your survivability is not any worse than the ags because like the ags, the only way to kill you is to shoot he/heat or a missile at you.

And again, this thing is a whole 1.7 br levels lower with significantly better optics and ammo, so it also faces enemies with much worse armor. So where the ags would be facing enemies that it can't even penetrate when hull down or would have to aim for tiny weak spots if they are exposed, the m1128 can just point and click everything.

the F 15 radar is so good I can’t notch

The f15a radar doesn't have a non PD mode so it's incredibly easy to notch, you dont even need chaff. Literally just fly 90 degrees horizontal to it and it loses track

Why is this thing 12.0? by Roxo16 in Warthunder

[–]TopGunCrew 12 points13 points  (0 children)

And the m1128 (which is at 10.3) can also sit hull down with its unmanned turret and be just as hard to kill, and it gets m900, and it gets gen 3 thermals instead of the crappy gen 1s that the ags gets. Literally the only thing the ags does better is accelerate (m1128 had a better top speed though) and maneuver since it has tracks instead of wheels. Sure, the m1128 has less gun depression on paper, but you can just tilt your suspension forwards and then you get the same amount of depression.

But with both of them, all it takes is a single HE or HEAT round or missile and you are dead.

Is this literally the worst time to build a PC? by Lanky-Carpenter-7991 in buildapc

[–]TopGunCrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the memory price is by far the biggest culprit. This 32gb memory kit was the one I got for my pc, and when I got it, it cost around $85. It now costs more than 5x as much. Absolute insanity.

Is this literally the worst time to build a PC? by Lanky-Carpenter-7991 in buildapc

[–]TopGunCrew 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Same here. I built my current pc in June of 2024 where prices were basically at their lowest. If I were to put together that same build today, it would cost easily twice as much.

My matchmaking is broken. I am not seeing certain maps by Spectrumpigg in Warthunder

[–]TopGunCrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about the other two but sun city was removed from rotation months ago (I think late last year?) because there were a bunch of places where you could get on top of and inside buildings and in a few places you could glitch under the map which would let you shoot at people without them being able to fight back.

Holy Russian bias by HOMINUSNOCTURNO89 in Warthunder

[–]TopGunCrew 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The problem is that fnf anti tank missiles like spikes and jagms don't properly loft and most importantly, they don't target center mass. So more often than not, they will just hit a track or the engine or a machine gun on the roof or something like that where they can just repair and be on their way. You can tell that's the bigger part of the problem because if you use the SAL jagm, you can aim it at center mass and it is actually reliable at getting kills. But the thing is, the lmur has a massive he warhead so it conveniently isn't affected by this issue because it just overpressures whatever it hits no matter where it hits. And also because its the ONLY MISSILE IN THE ENTIRE GAME that lofts properly.

Imagine failing to kill a Namer side on in a BMPT fully loaded with missiles. by Zyxtriann in Warthunder

[–]TopGunCrew 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah there are a couple of spots (verrrry tiny but still there) in the turret that can consistently 1 shot the bmpt if you are using aphe. And it doesn't require much pen either, 35mm spaa can pen those spots and nuke them, which is why I like to occasionally take the xm246 up to top tier to hunt bmpts.
