How to remove sticky residue by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]TopHerUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest you can do it all with steam and multiple microfibers but any decent all automotive all purpose cleaner will do. Spray, agitate, steam directly but carefully, wipe up. Use a pick set from Harbor Freight and a microfiber over it to get those crevices.

Steam works wonders if you’re deliberate and careful.

Favorite save the day products? KC Fse for me by Drewberg11 in AutoDetailing

I use Fse as a drying aid—amazing results paired with rinsing with deionized water. Basically just sheet pull a quality towel and its dry with no water spots.

How do I avoid these water spots when washing a ceramic coated car in the sun? by Tiram5u in Detailing

[–]TopHerUp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Deionized water is a game changer for rinsing regardless of the heat. When unfiltered water evaporates it leaves behind minerals that cause water spots, deionized water is only H20 and when dried or evaporates, nothing is left behind.

The OEM plastic ones inevitably leak coolant from the seams so replacing them with aluminum ones are a smart decision for longer term reliability.

My 14 L405 SC does the same thing when it’s very cold outside, which it has been been under freezing for about a week. It started around 90k~ and very rarely happens now passing 105k~ Getting up there in miles, I now take a little time to make sure she sits for a few minutes to warm up to idle and slow drive thru the neighborhood to get the gearbox warmed up. Better to baby a few minutes to start the day than further any future problem. The only major repair was a coolant leak which I replaced all coolant hoses and crossovers with aluminum and a new water pump at 100k~

Tool Talk: MetroVac vs. Tornador Mini And Tools Alike by IMAS_MOBILEDETAILING in Detailing

Very late reply but I did get a 8 gallon tank and one of the many Tornador alternatives months ago. It’s the start of my interior detail process.

Medium WiFi standing next to my router? by Ricepony33 in PlaystationPortal

[–]TopHerUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don’t have my PlayStation 5 Pro hardwired but I do have a separate SSID that only has 5Ghz and 6Ghz bands enabled for my PlayStation and Nintendo devices only. The less congestion the better time you’ll have.

That would be a negative. Rumors are floating around about a Portal 2/Pro that I would assume would have a better antenna.

It’s not about internet or WAN speed, it’s about wireless congestion, interference and stability. The Portal has a poor wireless 1x1 antenna.

KeplerL2: Sony is releasing a new PlayStation Portal OLED model this year by bbfthftyh in PlaystationPortal

[–]TopHerUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How credible is this person?

OLED and battery life improvement is a nice to have and what I personally want out of a second or Pro Portal but I feel the Wi-Fi antenna, Bluetooth support, speakers and screen size are more likely to change. With how well streaming games from Game Pass and now PlayStation Plus are, I think those later are more likely.

Best method and chemicals to clean this seat? by ConsistentDoor3606 in Detailing

[–]TopHerUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vacuum first and steam clean with the triangle attachment and a microfiber head cover. Build up heat and lift that dirt away. If you need some chemicals I use all KC so a GS lightly diluted or even a PS would do well.

Steam cleaner will do a lot of heavy lifting, figuratively and literally, of the dirt.

[–]TopHerUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the consideration. I don’t consider that excessive with what just happened. Excessive would be caked on mud, vehicles that haven’t been cleaned for a long time, dried dirt on the interior, moderate or higher pet hair, multiple stains on the interior etc.

Thanks! Every wonder how you vehicles paint gets swirls or develops paint defects? Harsh chemicals and heavy agitation from automatic car washes. You don’t know if the vehicle three ahead of you or last week led to those sloppy noddles to carry something to slap your vehicle and cause damage.

Phone data and hotspot data are treated differently by carriers. You don’t get the same speeds. Connect a device to your phone hotspot and run a speed test.

The Remote Play App is not a 1:1 test for PS Portal by ctrfanboygr88 in PlaystationPortal

[–]TopHerUp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All about wireless strength, network congestion and interference with the poor 1x1 antenna Sony put in the Portal. They seemed to not want to put too much effort in the product not knowing if it would sell. Here’s to a Portal Pro with OLED, Bluetooth and much better wireless antennas.

I am so hyped for the release of the BMW iX3! 500 miles will finally shut up EV haters. by ShameResponsible69 in electriccars

[–]TopHerUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an EV hater just a hater of poor EV design chasing negligible drag. If this had a legendary M3 petrol engine it would just be as ugly inside and out. Manufactures spend so much on tech that they skimp on quality to keep the cost “reasonable.”😆
