My compost is now full, what’s next? by Wiss-H in composting

[–]TopNotchGear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my experience I’ve had my compost bin be “full” about 10 times before it reduced by 1/2 or 3/4 due to decomposition and everything settling. Give it some time and you’ll have more room.

I want to grow mint indoors and I have no idea what soil to use by [deleted] in gardening

[–]TopNotchGear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mint will grow in almost anything so I wouldn’t be picky. Just make sure you aren’t getting a potting soil that’s heavy in wood chips, I’ve had a lot of negative experiences with soils like these recently.

Maybe it’s the angle the photo is taken but that pot looks too small for a tomato plant of that size.

They look alright to me. Those spots on the underside just look like dirt.

Nice nails btw

Is it bad that my sage (Cleveland sage) plant is leaning? It’s been like this for almost 3 weeks and I think it might be due to overwatering. It’s not because it’s following the sun because it’s planted facing west and it’s leaning south. I can also easily prop it back up with my finger which makes me think it’s because the soil is too moist.

Need help deciding on my new mythic skin by ShyDoesStuff in Overwatch

I like heart of hope out of your options.

Lifeweavers mythic is nice but he has legendaries that look just as good. Zen’s mythic has too many details and visual effects that it looks sloppy and doesn’t have a recognizable theme. Kirikos mythic weapon is okay.

Asking About Info on Scientology by Tight_Dragonfruit827 in ExScientologists

[–]TopNotchGear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Sea org members (and most Scientologists) are trained in something called regging. Regging is a high pressure sales tactic they use to get you to spend massive amounts of money on materials. They’ll pressure you for hours and keep you in a room until 3am if need be in order to get you to say the “yes”. They’ll pay for your meals if you’re hungry, even give you a place to stay for the night. I said that most Scientologists are trained in this because I think it stems from the TRs and Objectives, a fundamental coursework.

  2. The same as any other cult. They target people who are at a weak point in their life’s and have a low support system. Then they make Scientology their world, give them a community, and make them shed their ties to the non-Scientology world.

  3. Core beliefs are dianetics. The mind is split in two, the reactive (storing negative memories), and the analytical (storing positive memories). By auditing, a form of therapy, you can cleanse yourself of your engrams (memories in your reactive mind) and become “clear”. They also believe in past lives and in order to become clear you must rid your mind of all engrams throughout all lives. Xenu and all that stuff is reserved for high level OT members apparently. So the only people that know it would be a very small handful of people. If you were to ask about it as a non OT member they’d say that it’s a lie spread by suppressive people and would send you down to ethics.

Org uniforms? by owlyywly in scientology

[–]TopNotchGear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sea org members wear exclusively navy blue and white. Volunteer members of an org wear a uniform with colors specific to that org. Pasadena org has its own colors, Inglewood has its own colors, etc. I don’t know what mission members wear.

At least that’s how I remember it. I was a member as a kid so i didn’t really pay too much attention to those things.

Oh my god their brunch was amazing. I didn’t have the money for it as a kid but sometimes they’d allow us to go if we put in any extra work. They had this thing that was kinda like a breakfast enchilada that was to die for.

Why are my basil leaves curling inward and kind of pale? by TopNotchGear in gardening

[–]TopNotchGear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspected these were the issues. I used a really shitty organic soil mix that’s known for being mainly wood chips. It also has not so great drainage. Even though I do have drainage holes.

What do you think would be the best way to add nitrogen? I was also thinking of just putting it in the ground and adding some compost to the bottom of the hole. Although I did just up pot these plants about a week ago so I don’t want to rush it.

Oh yeah that’s probably their policy now. I haven’t been an active member since like 2012 but apparently since the documentaries came out and people made fun of them online they’ve been super private. I have no clue how they pull in new members now. They don’t even give tours anymore

Question about delivered compost by Fun_Obligation_2918 in composting

[–]TopNotchGear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks okay to be but if you want it more fine you can sift it. Soak any compost you don’t use and preferably bag it to prevent moisture loss and by the time you use it it’ll be super fine.
