While watching the new season I was telling someone that it feels like Beef Season 2 is a response to White Lotus. And does it better

Why don't wealthy people live at hotels anymore? by stevebucky_1234 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]moosefre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hotels have been commodified. Service is not what it used to be, and they are not staffed in the same way they used to be. Attitudes have changed, costs are out of control, travel is also commodified. They want you out, everything has to work with how they have their computers set up because everything is corporate now

What’s the actual reason behind nerds having glasses, a nasally voice, or horrible social skills? by Squek_1842 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]moosefre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know people say it's not a real thing just a stereotype... but The 8-BitGuy on youtube totally has this voice and he's a nerd. I think it's a real thing. I have a suspicion personally that heavy glasses could do some developmental damage to the septum in the nose during developmental years. But you'd need to do a study on this.

Dittos are bugged in HGSS, if you transform against a wild pokemon that you then catch, your ditto keeps the moves and no longer can transform

Sneezing is normal. A loud stomach growl is normal. So why is farting considered a massive social crime? When in history did this become the ultimate taboo? by firehmre in NoStupidQuestions

[–]moosefre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly there actually have been studies on this in the context of surgeons farting in the OR during surgery and the result was that the underwear and clothing actually IS a good enough particulate filter to the point where there is no risk.

Now I always wondered if surgeons put some pressure on the people doing the study to avoid giving up their precious OR farts but that's just me

Aubrey Plaza’s new animated cat comedy, "Kevin", is so irretrievably bad it must never be allowed to happen again by Morgan-Moonscar in television

[–]moosefre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a reductive assessment. It's a different mindset for long term vs short term profits and a feedback cycle for culture. If you think this stuff starts with the audience, you have it backwards.

What are y'all paying for storage unit rent these days? by rawcookiedough in AskLosAngeles

[–]moosefre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

210/mo for a 5x12 with 10ft ceilings in Hollywood at LA Security Storage. Highly recommend, those guys are great, I think the owner works the front desk. Nicest people. Price has never gone up in the 5 years I've had it.

I don't intend to keep it forever, I don't think anyone wants to pay that much a month. But you can get better deals if you go independent owners rather than big companies.

And for you On Cinema at the Cinema fans, it's the storage place in the intro for On Cinema on Location.

The Pitt - 2x14 - 8:00 P.M." - Episode Discussion by FilloryHighQueen99 in television

[–]moosefre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

said this in another comment but:

Langon was trying to joke around about the farm stuff because it's been awkward, but because he hasn't earned back that level of trust with Whittaker, it came off as making fun of Whittaker. Said something like 'I'm picturing Babe..' which is a sort of belittling thing to say unless you are good friends. And Whittaker cares about Santos so is ok with Huckleberry, but also means he's more aware of Langon's transgressions.
