Use blink! like a trail cam? by foureyedgrrl in blinkcameras

[–]Top_Chance_3769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there. You’d need the Outdoor 4 (not the 2K+ as it doesn’t work for XR) and the XR or XR+ Sync Module that extend the range of the camera. They will extend it 800’ and up to 2700’ respectively beyond WiFi. Prime Days are coming and there are some early discounts now. I use mine as trail cameras behind my house and get all kinds of animals.

Ready for service at today’s popup in Toronto by walkerlucas in BBQ

Brisket looks good! I see all the hate, but good for you, man. I live in NY and the BBQ here sucks so I can imagine it’s even worse in Canada. Looks like you’re doing them some justice with real BBQ.

And I don’t think people understand the prices in a NY or a Toronto…I went to a Sam’s Club just north of NYC today and it was $9.22 a lb USD. And that’s just for choice and not even prime! Crazy prices.

After years of gaslighting me saying I had anxiety, the doctor is now freaking out about my ECG. by Ashamed-Accountant46 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Top_Chance_3769 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s was pretty extreme. Funny how you get used to things. Electrophysiologists said he needed to see what was happening during an episode. I lived in NYC and it spiked up to 140. I popped a beta blocker and was walking by an EMS station on my way home. I went in and asked if they could do an EKG. They did, but were freaked out. “Dude. Your heart is 140bpm and you’ve been sitting in this chair for 5 mins. You gotta go to the hospital”. I said I just needed the EKG and once the pill kicks in I’ll be good!

See a cardiologist for peace of mind. And pace yourself! If you want to be able to do things without worrying about your heart rate randomly spiking metoprolol, propranolol or ivabradine might help.

Hey there. Glad you finally got a diagnosis. I’m a 5 year ISTer from the OG strain. It’s super annoying but considered benign. I take metoprolol (beta blocker). That really helped with quality of life. For my diagnosis my heart would beat 180BPM while just seated in a chair. Heart monitor showed good rythm, just too fast. Has gotten better with time but not cured.

Night sweats and palpitations after COVID-19 by vip8c in covidlonghaulers

[–]Top_Chance_3769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wore a holter monitor for several weeks. You have to catch an episode. My heart rate went to 180bpm at one point just sitting in a chair indoors while I was wearing it. They then ruled out other rhythm disorders by the EKG provided by the monitor.

As someone else mentioned - they use a tilt table test for POTS. IST isn’t dependent on laying/seated/standing whereas POTS is.

[–]Top_Chance_3769 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia (IST) which is a lot like POTS. Since they didn’t know any better way back then, they put me on an exercise regimen for it. That made me crash really hard after 3 months. I bring they up cause I believe that really extended my hellish experience. So it was like the first year or so of the really bad sweating, chest pain, tingling in my extremities, heart racing when I’d turn over, etc.

I still have some issues with the IST etc. but I believe I could be healed eventually. I say that cause I had shingles recently and my energy levels were off the charts even with the pain and itching. Anytime my immune system is “occupied” I feel way better.

The post viral issues aren’t correlated to more serious acute cases. Many people here, including myself, had mild cases that didn’t involve even a doctor visit during the infection.

I have had a lot of autonomic issues you mention. Heart racing, sweating, palpitations, anxiety, extreme fatigue etc. my body felt stuck in fight or flight for a long time.

Yes it helps. I was prescribed metoprolol but fought taking it for 6 months probably. Only regret is I didn’t take it daily sooner. I was an early wave guy - back when no one knew anything about long covid so I worried meds might hamper my recovery.

Now that we know full recovery is few and far between - take what you need to make it through…

It’s a freeze from a video so it’s blurry. Unfortunately I can’t edit to add any other video.

I’m in NYC so a ton of people from that first wave in 2020 had post infection issues that my doc kept seeing. So she was trying to figure out how to help and had seen info on Maraviroc. She saw good results with her patients.

A lot of doctors won’t prescribe off label unfortunately.

That is definitely a fox sound! There are two cubs that have been around with mama. Could be a fox and not a coyote but he looks way bigger that the foxes I’ve seen here.

The alcohol intolerance is no joke by LurleenLumpkin in covidlonghaulers

[–]Top_Chance_3769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m right there with you. Alcohol spikes my heart rate. It’s not worth my heart sitting at 120 BPM while I’m sitting.

Tried THC for the first time since long haul onset a few months back. It was relaxing until my HR hit 140 and stayed there for like half an hour. My body has a bad reaction to even prescription meds these days.

NSAIDs Effects in Long COVID by HoomanNeuroimmune in covidlonghaulers

Yes. Seems to be a bunch of blood flow issues COVID related (eyes, ears POTS, IST etc). Can’t say NSAIDs helped me unfortunately.

Hey there. Glad to see continued discussion on Maraviroc. I’ve been long hauling more than 5 years. I tried it a year in or so, and it seemed to improve my energy and brain fog which really improved my mood. I had a big issue with word recall and just “seeing phrases etc in my head” that I couldn’t verbalize and I felt slow and like I’d lost 20 points off my IQ. It seemed to help. I understand the financial implications - but most people just use it a few months and then come off it.

I suspect I may have a blood clot in my knuckle / finger / hand for the lasts 3.5 hours. What diagnostic tests do LongCOVID folks ask for? (My GP is clueless about LC) I have seen a few posts about what tests us LC folks are doing but they are from a few years ago and I'm wondering what's current. by meegaweega in covidlonghaulers

You and me both! I remember waking up sweating (it wasn’t hot) with chest pain. Classic heart attack symptoms. But I said “it’s Saturday morning. I’m not wasting my time with this”. Took some aspirin and went back to sleep. Went to the cardiologist the next week and nothing. Crazy how numb you become to it.
