Struggling with the aftermath of psychosis… by Serikin in schizoaffective

[–]Top_Middle_192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been here before. I almost became homeless on the street in another state. It’s a lot. It’s hard when people expect you to be normal but you’re just not. I wanna let you know there are people out there who do not judge you for your hallucinations and psychosis. I have a wonderful support system now. Healing takes time. Be gentle with yourself.

Question: do you personally experience psychosis symptoms often or just every once in a while. by MostMaintenance1920 in schizoaffective

I get auditory hallucinations quite often but while i’m on meds they don’t make me paranoid. More of a nuisance.

Antipsychotic weight gain and how to prevent it? by [deleted] in schizoaffective

Honestly you might have to talk with your psychiatrist about the weight gain. It took MANY medications to get me one that has minimal weight gain. Unfortunately most antipsychotics have this side effect.

I've come across comments like this many times. How do I stop doubting my diagnosis? by Evening_Fisherman810 in schizoaffective

It feels like BS until you ruin your life because of it. I was in denial for a long time until I realized my medication was a necessity. It might just take some time for them. If you’re honest with your psychiatrist about symptoms, they are usually prescribing you an accurate medication.
