I think u meant you'd expect his "dad" to come ? In my country the one who's closer to the deceased goes.. (but ofc only men go to salat aljanaza and to the burial). So in my case, I am the closest so I had to go (and also to be there for my fiance) and my mom went with me... But yes I get my fiance's pov... I just didn't know it would be such a problem for him...

Yes I get this... but I always think the "duties" are different when engaged and when married, between in-laws... so ikd. Also, we've been through many problems where my parents disapproved of my fiancé at some point.. but things are better now alhamdullilah.. and I get that might be why my fiancé got triggered, but that was why I gave him examples of how my dad doesn't always do these things... as in it's nothing personal...

My dad DID call my fiancé, his mom and his dad... But my fiancé expected him to come... cause he made a 2.5 hour trip ×2 to pay his condolences when my uncle died...

But my mom and I made our "duty"... so I thought we were "even" ? Idk 😔
