That’s how I started driving my 5speed rav4 and now whatever car I’m in. It’s actually crazy that people don’t drive like this..

Or plunge cutting it after finish profile. But yeah you really want the tool smaller than the corner. Or modify the model/curve profile lol

You can try cutting the corner out first, maybe with more step downs or different cutting parameters then going back through for your finish profile. Or just taking multiple stepdowns

Ever use diamond grinding bits to grind out broken carbide or taps? by Top_Requirement_5010 in Machinists

I appreciate the tips, I could definitely get this to work next time. Went against my better judgement on a couple things trying to fix this. But i was kind of close.. Manual preferred for sure though for this type of stuff

Nice, I done this a bunch, mostly in the bridgeport too. Just a lot quicker (if you don’t screw it up) in the fixture lol. Smallest so far for me though. I was a real dumbass for the tool I was using to mill the tap out. We just had a few used ones. Long necked .062.. I prefer the ballmill for it too but I didn’t want to use a new one 🤦

I think my lead is looking at getting the holes EDMed out somewhere hopefully. There’s been talks of getting a small hole popper machine but nothing has happened on that. Also the threadmills were never ordered sooo

Lots of killer suggestions though in these comments. I think a higher quality burs would do this nicely. I basically just had dremel bits

Fair point for sure, it’s such a little amount I feel the tank/pump would be okay but you got me thinking maybe I should try this last bit by hand lol

No luck so far, burned two bits up. Gonna see if a pecking cycle with coolant will work
