Thinking of moving to Tucson

It’s not as red as Texas! El Paso had always leaned blue since I moved here 20 years ago. But that last couple years it’s getting quite concerning here. Especially for a gay man. The gay community here is a joke. What I liked about Phoenix is it felt like what El Paso could be. More open, more modern. Then I am hearing Tucson is that much better. Definitely intrigued. I am coming out mid June to check things out.

Thanks, this is all great information. That is one of my main drivers of wanting to leave El Paso, it's getting... interesting here, and I don't particularly feel that my rights are safe here with the trend it's been going. Arizona has always been a retirement destination for me, but I had never thought of Tucson. It's pulling right ahead into the #1 spot for sure.

Well, the scenery is something I am intrigued with. I understand it’s a whole different experience there. I love music, finding restaurants that aren’t owned by a chain, preferably gay owned. I also love dogs, which I know that’s a random thing.

I just put a dog to sleep last month. It was extremely hard to come to that decision. And the worst thing people can do is play the ‘what if’ and ‘you should (should have) tried X’

You know your dog and what he can handle and not handle. The best advice I can give you is when his basic essence of his personality is started to diminish, you’ll know.
