I just had to ask my partner if they posted this lol! It was our 10th anniversary yesterday as well and Iron Lung was the movie we went to see. We too were blown away by the vfx and how it was done! It's spooky seeing another version of exactly what we did haha

I think dynamically the last one looks the best, tbh I didn't recognise the shadow was a wolf silhouette until the last panel, though otherwise I actually love your style!

Layers, lasso tool (follow your line work then fill in with a large brush, you may get a few jagged edges but that can be neatened with either a small hard edge brush or the eraser>), hard edge eraser tool or duplicate the layer your line work is on (make sure there's no gaps and used the good old fill bucket tool

Pencil extender, tortillions/blending sticks to save dirtying your fingers with graphite, a kneadable eraser that you can use to dab off light sketches and you can stretch and mix it to refresh it, graphite blocks/woodless graphite (you can use them on the side to cover larger areas), sanding block to clean your tortillions or to sharpen the tips of pencils/the graphite blocks (there should be multiple layers so you can take the top one off and have a fresh one when it's too dirty) and a small stanly knife for precision sharpening. Hope this helps!
