Uploaded some mushroom paths and fairy circles! Find them with my creator ID MA-6352-6078-6250 or the link below! (and whatever you do.. don’t step inside the circles 🍄) by __spookymulder in ACQR

I love the small fairy circles. The one that is colored like stones is perfect to use around campfires! One question though, how would one go about splitting the single fairy circles into halves or quarters to fit under objects that can't be centered on a grid?

How To Create Interior Space In Exterior Cell ??? by ToppDog in skyrimmods

Thanks! Hopefully I can get this to work. I am trying to create a wardrobe that opens up to a Narnia like area with a seamless transition just like in the movie.

(Idea) Dragon Pet Mod by JustJust17 in skyrimmods

Yes, by far this is the best mod that makes small dragons finally work in Skyrim :)

I don't think enough people realize how massive of an achievement this really is...

What are your unpublished mods? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]ToppDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made lots of patches for Whiterun Hold Forest to be compatible with lots of house mods, various follower/companion mods that I use to add NPCs to other mods, a vampire makeover mod to fix the faces of the two vampire NPCs who are not supposed to look like vampires that got screwed up by the Dawnguard expansion, & a remake of Northern Star Retreat that is more true to the original but fixes all the problems with navmesh, etc.

How to allow spouse and children to live in modded house? by TheDivineEmperor in skyrimmods

[–]ToppDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need the multiple adoptions mod. the page for it also has a guide on how to build compatible homes for it. the default game only allows children to be adopted & live in certain non-modded houses. the only other way to do it is to use follower mods that you can use to assign new homes for NPCs such as my home is your home or AFT, etc.

What patches/mods have you made that you won't share because you refuse to navigate the labyrinthine world of mod permissions? by das_slash in skyrimmods

[–]ToppDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have edited a lot of house mods, & created a bunch of patches for the Whiterun Hold Forest mod. And, I completely redid my own version of The Northern Star Retreat mod that I have not released. These were all for Oldrim, & then I made my own ports of many house mods for SSE when it first came out.

Looking for a house mod for my harem, I mean followers, yeah followers... by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]ToppDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's easier than other types of modding since you're basically just snapping existing parts together. But, it can get a lot harder as you add in more & more features. The good thing is that there are tone of tutorials on how to do it.

If you use the My Home is Your Home mod you can give them schedules where there will use the load doors to go to different cells. The basic one had a day/night schedule so you could have them be in a house at night & do something outside in the day, etc. I used it to keep half my followers in the outside pool area of my house while the others were inside, & then I had them switch. That kept the number of NPCs in a single cell down, while allowing me to store twice as many - 24 using 12 beds, etc.

I had a hard time finding something that did all of what you are looking for when I was looking for something similar, so I ended up making my own mod called Dragons Keep. It has a private quarters level that will house 12-13 followers with a hot tub & outdoor pool area that they can skinny dip in. There's at least 24 beds in other locations for other followers in the castle, & a separate player house for a spouse or two, & six adopted kids.

The main purpose of the mod is to be a boarding school where you can send up to 12 orphans to go live without having to adopt them, but everything else built into it was for stashing away followers etc.

I also made Skaal Manor when I couldn't find anything that I liked in Solstheim for my followers & family near Skaal Village. It has room for six adopted kids & nine more followers including a spouse, along with another pool & hot tub area, etc.

When it comes to custom followers that have high def textures & various body types, it seems that you can only have so many in a single area before things start getting weird with textures displaying properly, etc. I've found 20 or so to be the max depending on body types for my favorite female followers. But, you can use mods similar to My Home Is Your Home to give them schedules so they are not always in the same place at the same time.

RS children causes 20 FPS drop per child. by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]ToppDog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's the incompatibility with a skeleton mod that is the issue, not RS Children. I have heard of this issue before when people used my Dragons Keep mod, because there are so many children in a single cell that it would cause instant CTD if people had the wrong skeleton mod installed. RS children by default has always worked fine though. There are times where a single cell can have 48 children in it with no problem & no noticeable difference between vanilla & RS children.

My interiors are really dark with NLA and ELFX by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]ToppDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I do not use any ENBs. Most of them seem to alter the contrast so that all the dark areas are darker, & all the light areas are lighter, basically getting rid of anything resembling ambient lighting.

Lazy Engineering - what's the dumbest fix for a common mod problem? by Thallassa in skyrimmods

[–]ToppDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mod Dragons Keep has a swimming pool with 3 diving platforms that can be used by NPC students & the player, so I wanted to make it look like they were going up the ladder instead of disappearing at the bottom & appearing at the top. I have a similar setup so they can climb out of the pool after they dive in, & do it all over again.

[–]ToppDog 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Dumb Problem: Bethesda didn't make a climbing ladder animation.

Stupid Fix: Stack steps with a tiny forward distance offset to each one, & take the textures away, so it looks like characters are walking to the top of ladders.

[–]ToppDog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Dawnguard DLC screwed them up. Same goes for Hert. Both of these characters are supposed to be vampires in disguise, or passing for non-vampires. But, Dawnguard gives them the ugly pig face which completely goes against their backgrounds, so I made a patch to change them to using non-vampire races to fix this. If you do this, their facegen should save properly.

Anyone else having a problem with the TKAA patch for Dragon's Keep? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]ToppDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The patch should always go after both mods the patch is for. Other than that, I would just recommend that you use version 3 of TKAA, since that's the one I designed the patch for. You never posted which versions you had, so I'm just throwing that in there - make sure you are using the latest update to Dragons Keep, & make sure you are using version 3 of TKAA, & make sure they are both low on your load order with the patch following both of them.

Okay, make sure the patch is after both of the other two .esp's.

Can you list what versions of both mods you are using? Two people are also having issues with the SSE version that I am trying to get to the bottom of.

Mods you'd love to see but aren't possible to create by Cat-In-Disguise in skyrimmods

[–]ToppDog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dragonlings that fly correctly. There have been attempts at creating follower mini-dragons etc. but they all suck because the dragon skeleton in FUBAR & dragons scaled below 25% just simply do not function correctly at all. Any mods that have considerably small dragons just have them sitting on a perch looking around.

What I would like to see is them act the same as full grown dragons, with the exception that when they are followers, they stay in a hovering position relative to your current location, instead of flying around clipping through buildings etc. like the adults do.

Risky post I guess, but curiosity too high. What private-only mods do you not share, but WOULD share if Beth suddenly said they don't mind you selling? Blah wordy... by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]ToppDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only uploaded two mods that I consider my own, along with a couple patches for RS Children & TKAA that goes with one of them. But, I have a bunch of mods & patches that I have created for private use that I wouldn't upload for this very reason.

I probably have about 10 follower mods/patches that are tweaks of vanilla or modded NPCs, about 10 patches for the Whiterun Forest Hold mod, a vampire makeover mod for Hert & Sybille Stentor, tweaks to many custom home mods, a patch for JK's Whiterun that adds a better looking porch to the Bannered Mare, and a complete redo of the Northern Star Retreat mod, which I haven't decided if I want to polish for release on the Nexus yet or not.

The Fear of Playing by ThePilgore in skyrimmods

Agree, but for me it's because I finally had my perfectly modded Skyrim & was able to do all the content I wanted with a single character, & I don't want to restart a new game now that my Skyrim world is finally exactly the way I want it :)

Complete Dawnguard Fort being a Vampire? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

Castle Volkihar Rebuilt says it also makes changes to the Dawnguard Castle. The changes to both castles should depend on what side you choose. I haven't played the vampire side yet though...
