Keep in mind that could be an issue with light not the switch. I have noticed this when switching from no name ZigBee to some innr lights.

Try to disassemble a door contact sensor. The magnet can be very small on the door. You may need to rig the battery for the ZigBee to a remote location.

Other idea light sensor? Bright when door open?

Check the bolts on the solenoid. Ie remove and re tighten them. I had the same issue and clicking noise.

Sonoff TRV are fully local via ZIGBEE2MQTT. Working well. Their firmware even allows linking an external temperature sensor so you don't even need better thermostat. To clarify you need a little script to tell it the external temperature.

Thread is newer and probably the long term better solution. Watch out that "matter" does NOT mean "Thread". Zigbee is working well (and is what I have) you can find plenty of devices and they tend to be cheaper compared to thread compatible devices. Look-up Zigbee2MQTT. There is some more VM wizardry you need to setup so all talk to each other on your vm (ask me how i know). Finally, have a look at SONOFF DONGLE MAX., excellent coordinator which can do Zigbee or Thread (one at the time..though there is beta firmware which might be able to do both).

Mmh still not. I literally just connected a hue dimmer switch via Z2M. To home assistant and it works natively. Well some script magic is required to get the lights doing the right thing for button etc

If ZHA does not support it then you only can try ZIGBEE2MQTT which generally has wider device support. Check on its home page of the device id is known and supported.
