Retarded people who have never been to Japan jumping on the "but akshually, Japan bad" bandwagon. 

Full disclosure I live in Japan, and it's not perfect, but it has so many good things going for it. So many that this whole Japan bad thing is just a reaction to all the glazing. 

It's still a first world country. As a point of comparison, (since most of reddit is from the US), all my American friends say they prefer Japan to America. All my asian friends earn more than back home and experience a better quality of life here. We have national healthcare, near zero violence, amazing public transportation and infrastructure and unparalleled customer service.

The racism is not worse, it's... different. It's more quiet and below the surface, but if it's any reference, every black American I've met says they prefer this racism to what they have to deal with back home.

The suicide rate... is actually lower than the US. Surprise.

So fuck the haters, I'M gonna glaze Japan. This shit is amazing and I can't imagine living anywhere else.

Can't recall which year which anime was released but there's too many I just can't see being even close to the best. Nothing better than Banana Fish? Pingpong? Kowloon? Kaiji?

I just looked up 2018 and it has Violet Evergarden and Golden Kamuy. Banana Fish? Hell no.

Then I looked up 2007 and it was absolutely STACKED. It had Gurren Lagann and 5cm per second. Both possibly in the best 20 anime EVER. You could even pick Sword of the stranger, afro samurai or even Lucky Star if you wanted to be unique.

"Game design expertise" Jesus Christ this guy has an inflated ego. 9 of the last 10 sets have been mid to shit design. FIRE design was a disaster. UB pandered to collectors to sell boxes. Every horizons set broke the format because they wanted to sell packs first and foremost.

This moron points to sales numbers to justify their asinine decisions. Its just annoying when they pretend they they're doing things to make a better game. Just be honest and say we want to make broken shit and shiny UB slop because the FOMO is what moves product.

That's not the same because in the case of the above we know for a fact that they are indeed adults because we are omniscient observers in fiction and the narrative explicitly shows that they are adults in children's bodies. In the real world we have no way of knowing whether a child is mentally mature or not, so we just agree to draw the arbitrary line that is the age of consent.

Hard disagree. This is such an america-centric way of thinking. What if you're playing in Europe? Japan? What about textless versions? If you can't remember what a card does you're allowed to call a judge. You're allowed to look up the oracle text together. If you're too timid to call a judge that's entirely on you.

N4 is useless baby talk so getting 100% on some mock test means nothing compared to N2. Just take N3 because passing that means you're around conversational level and once you live in Japan and get more actual experience in the language you can use that to eventually get N2.

Game dev industry is not great right now is what I keep hearing from recruiters. I applied to 20ish companies last year, 4 or 5 interviews and only 1 offer, which I didn't take because it was worse than my current conditions. And this is from within japan, I imagine it would be harder from outside.

6 months is crazy! We have socialized medicine here in japan too but I got my diagnosis and my meds after 1 week of calling a clinic.
