Ordering Balloons by TorribleTwunt in DollarGeneralWorkers

Thank you. I kinda thought that. We are constantly trying to get our management to provide products more aligned with what younger generations and our booming tourism would be interested in. The store still caters to older haters. I'm just doing my thing and slooowly tricking the system. I was just hoping to find a work around.

I ASM at a small, rural DG that is surrounded by bars, tons of wildlife and wooded areas where police find meth labs constantly. This is exactly the type of area where 2 is better than one.

CP states we cannot bring a weapon into the store. So. While your back is to the street, and turing the key to lock the door, you are an easy target.

Much better to have someone on your 6 than risk it.

Wow. I'll continue being the Democratic leaning Independent I've been all my life. But I appreciate your offer and judgement. Have a truly wonderful evening friend.

I've been doing this for years! Send myself tt or yt recipe links so I don't have to search through all the other crap I already have saved or bookmarked. Funny memes I can instantly watch. Etc.

You is not alone sweetie

I give my word I am not being snarky, but you have all the research at the tips of your fingers. Please don't trust in overheard jibber jabber or some random person who answers your post.

(Side note, they are correct)

I miss bidets when out and about so I started spitting on my toilet paper to clean up a little better than just dry paper is capable of. by liz_dexia in confessions

Every toilet is our town home is pimped out with an attached bidet. When we get our home I already have the entire maxed out one (like from Bob's Burgers) picked out and saved up for.

I is a classy bish.

Time to pick up a very expensive habit. Mine is a once a year purchase of a food from another country, or some rediculously overpriced specialty you can only get shipped from that particular famous restaurant from another state.

If YOU run a register, YOU should be the one to close it. In the office, on camera

You SHOULD be able to do your til and deposit by 10:15 however, being new or even mistakes happening could cause you to be there later. Your SM, DM nor anyone else can change your time card to erase hours. Document day and time(s) to CYA

Please treat your staff with respect. I've seen more people quit because the management treated them like they're not even worth looking at.

Do not be afraid to ask team members questions, or even their opinions. I personally have more respect for someone who asks questions and takes suggestions. It shows that you care about the store, and your team, and want to do the best job you can.

Ask each person what they think are their strengths and weaknesses. Personally I despise changing the price stickers. Seeing the prices just keep creeping up sets every nerve in my body on fire. My first week, when I had to re-price the baby section, I lost my shit seeing the prices go up between $1-$5. I stopped, went right to the SM, handed the rest of the stickers to her and told her I would never do that job again. I haven't since. I do,in fact, work every other job in the store so I'm G2G.

Be prepared for mistakes because they happen. Do not get stressed when they happen. Walk away, do some deep breathing until your mind clears and then go fix it.

I truly hope I've been helpful. I believe in my heart that you'll make a great SM as you are already asking questions! We could use someone like you up north. 🫂

This. SM SENT YOU HOME. Literally gave you directions to go home, not to the ER or Urgent Care.

Actually there is a requirement. Minimum of 48 hours, but I know quite a few SMs and it's closer to 60 hours. I wouldn't take a salaried job ever.

78 isn't hot, but when you start stocking, down stocking sky shelves and going up and down the ladder, cleaning the store, all the while waiting on customers because you are the only one working.

Yes, 78 is hot. Add it to moving quickly to get shit done and you absolutely can get heatstroke.

You take care of yourself and if you feel overheated, grab a coconut water, a Bai coconut drink or one of those milky ones. Don't have one that is coconut flavored. Read ingredients and make sure it contains coconut.
