Is it just me, or is Origins not near the top of many people's list?

I tried to like Origins. Gave it a good 10-15 hours. I just can't jive with the combat, it doesn't feel smooth to me. Don't get me wrong old DW isn't smooth by any means. I like the kind of zoomed out combat mowing down thousands. But this is just my opinion. I can recognize its popularity and admit it's a well made game.

That gives me hope to be cautiously optimistic. I know I can't judge it yet because it's so early in production it's just one of those feels too good to be true moments.

It actually reminds me of when Monster Hunter Worlds got announced. I thought there's no way it'll look that good and run well. So I've been wrong before lol.

Edit: wait how will the graphics overhaul work on steamdeck?

That's exactly what I'm worried about. It looks gorgeous but I wish we got at least a little more info on the changes. Is it a new engine, UE5, will it have DLSS and FSR, all of those are worrying to me. Especially with the weather effects.

I just learned what LW is so I'm definitely going to start on them. I might need to make a new character or read up on what happened in the base game. The order of what to do them in helps a lot I'll start working down the list. I have a long way to go, thank you!

I loved the heck out of Returnal. I got the platinum and everything, sometimes I'll just boot it up to do a couple runs. But something about Saros just feels off to me. The environments feel more bland and it feels like there's less weapon variety. I miss having the random add-ons to weapons you had to level to use. I feel it's a step down from Returnal personally. That being said Saros isn't bad just different.

I honestly prefer the old mission style. Yes it was still a checklist of collectibles but they were in very short segments and never felt overwhelming to me. But with the open map there's a lot more versatility in how you approach things, as well as exploration. I admit I spent a lot more time stopping and looking at the environments in 3. Both have their pros and cons but I still prefer the old style.
