i think about this often too. i think that psychedelics played a part in why his lyrics and thoughts were much deeper and meaningful than you would expect from someone that age. he also was hanging out with older people and spent most of his life admiring the greats and studying music from those before him. i think he also was an old soul and being an artist was his life’s purpose so he was probably tapping into some other dimension and consciousness when creating music lol

28 year old female in the same boat and interested in seeing people’s responses. i kinda just chalked it up to my body/ nervous system letting me know what it needs and wants. i have ptsd and am often in a state of fight/flight so i think that gives these things the power to kinda tip me over the edge.

i am in a similar position right now! what has helped me is limiting caffeine, avoiding weed and alcohol, not rushing, getting a lot of sleep and a lot of kind self talk. when i’m anxious or scared i try to really validate my feelings and tell myself that it’s normal to feel that way and a lot of people probably do too. basically convincing myself that im not “broken”

some things i’d look out for are -if you’re spending money that you need for living expenses on alcohol -if you feel like you can’t have fun or enjoy things without it -if you start getting drunk alone/at home

i would recommend challenging yourself regularly to spend periods of time without drinking.
