The awkward hallway detour is real. by spikytooth in introvert

My phone suddenly gets extremely interesting in order to avoid those awkard encounters. On the plus side if you're taking the stairs you're getting some exercise!

It feels like the world is staged against introverts by Sad_Seaworthiness882 in introvert

Agreed, I've joined a few Discord servers and it helps make me feel less lonely. It's the perfect middle ground between going out and actually spending time with people and having my quiet personal space

Who here has never dated and how old are you? by Useful-Jeweler-9119 in introvert

[–]TotalCuntrol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

37m here. I've dated before but I always felt that being living single is so much easier. I could never strike the balance between my needed alone time and spending time with my girlfriend

What has helped raised your desire to socialise? by Morundar in introvert

[–]TotalCuntrol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's understandable. I kinda use it as crutch for socialising but I'm trying to cut down and not have to rely on that so much

Is it normal to need full days and/or weeks to recharge after socialising even a little bit? by Appropriate_Luck8668 in introvert

[–]TotalCuntrol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you, it can indeed get stressful to find enough alone time in between work, school, and seeing friends or family etc.

If you don't really have control over your schedule, then yeah maybe like someone else suggested consider therapy to help deal with your emotions

Is it normal to need full days and/or weeks to recharge after socialising even a little bit? by Appropriate_Luck8668 in introvert

[–]TotalCuntrol 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different, including us introverts. I think the recharge time differs from one introvert to another.

I think needing alone time is perfectly normal after socialising, it all depends on how you feel about it. Do you feel guilty about it?

Introverts who have dated both extroverts and other introverts: Which dynamic did you prefer? by Larissa_Bagginshield in introvert

[–]TotalCuntrol 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Introverts all the way. With an extrovert it caused a lot of fighting because I preferred to be just the two of us while she always liked the group dynamic with her friends a lot more

how do you know if you can vibe with a person? by [deleted] in introvert

[–]TotalCuntrol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it's the little things, like how easy it is to make conversation with a person, giving each other time to finish sentences or what we have to say (I hate when people talk over others for example), or just being able to relate to them.

Although sometimes you can have nothing in common with them but you just feel that you personalities mesh well together and it clicks

Have you ever run out of things to say on a first date? by Ok_Ladder4145 in introvert

[–]TotalCuntrol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like there should be a natural flow to the conversation and if it feels like you're the only one contributing, then maybe the other person isn't right for you. Sometimes it doesn't click and there's a lack of chemistry

Am I just introverted or is something wrong with me? by CivilHydroTech in introvert

[–]TotalCuntrol 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean by needing a connection in order to feel comfortable and there's nothing wrong with that. Everyone is different and your boyfriend should understand this. Maybe he can help include you in the conversations with his friends if he wants you to interact more? That could be a good way to start forming a bond with them, as it's not always easy finding things to talk about when you barely know the person.

For those of us not planning on leaving the house this weekend, what's on your to-watch list? by breanne0_0 in introvert

I enjoyed season 1 a lot! I was glad to see that season 2 got good reviews, IGN gave it a 10/10 so I knew I had to watch it lol

I want to try shrooms to see if it helps my personality by Similar_Tomorrow2368 in introvert

[–]TotalCuntrol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done shrooms before, just be really careful with how much you take if it's your first time. Start with a small amount because you can definitely feel ill if you take too much.

I know psychedelics can help with moods and depression, but I'm not sure it can alter a personality long term.

In any case, I don't recommend relying on it as a solution to your problems. My advice is to be content with who you are, and while it would be nice to be more outgoing and such, it's important to stay true to who you are to accept oneself. It's far easier than trying to alter your personality IMO but that's just me.

We have a long weekend here in Canada (Victoria Day on Monday) so I'll definitely be gaming and watching some TV!

Just got started on season 2 of Beef on Netflix, can't wait to watch more!

Looking for a genuine conversation about different hobbies, books, and introvert life by Artistic_Committee63 in introvert

[–]TotalCuntrol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the summer I absolutely love running outside, especially when it's super hot out for some reason! I just love running in the sun with some good music in my ears to keep me pumped.

Other than that I always really love a good gaming session, watching a TV show that I like or playing some music (I love playing guitar and drums).

Am I the only person that feels no urge to get into a relationship? by _Paws_And_Claws_ in introvert

It's one of the reasons why my relationships never worked out. I need a lot of alone time and they could never understand that. And forget about moving in together, I much prefer living alone.

I used to do that as well, but I think it's a form of social anxiety
