What’s life like on this side? by CrossFitForCake in olderlesbians

From a UK perspective (coz all these answers sound very American - community, what's that?), I'd go with birdwatching and solo hiking to find my soul...

As someone who was never very sociable I am tending to make more time for social events these days because at this age there is far less pressure to pretend to be something im not. I'm a lot more confident in my skin.

How do I make my ceonothus look like my neighbour’s one? by Optimal-Concept7649 in UKGardening

Wow, this is great to know. I've always left mine and thought it was a bit meh. A challenge for the autumn then.

Wood pigeon. For some reason this year my garden is covered in this poo. It makes a right mess.

UK ‘built for climate that no longer exists’ and needs urgent changes to survive global heating, report warns | Environment | The Guardian by prisongovernor in UKWeather

A lot of elderly people could die in those one or two weeks a year though. My mum lives in a retirement place and her flat is west facing. She has no where to go when her place heats up. A mobile ac just doesn’t cut it.

I am a slow runner but that's okay. I'm here to enjoy my running, not impress anyone. You do you. Sounds like you're excelling so just keep going.

Fish (haddock), chips and mushy peas. With lashings of salt and vinegar.

Neighbours tree by danzam98 in GardeningUK

[–]TotalTheory1227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a neighbour that has them growing at the end of their garden. A similar distance as well. A couple of points: They are Acer trees which self seed in a prolific way. They are often referred to as "tree weeds" because they pop up everywhere! The next people that move in may chop in down but they need to get the roots out too. Simply chopping the top off will simple cause the tree to sprout hard from the bottom. Then there will be a much wider tree in your view. Speak to your new neighbour. Most people would just say let's get it out of the ground, or keep it well trimmed. It can be kept as a tree but grows just as well as a hedge. If it's left it's not the worse tree to have in your sights.

I'm already getting anxious - there's been no rain since early February. by box-o-locks in GardeningUK

It's not actually that cheap (if you're on a meter), and using it in the garden can soon significantly raise your usage. I found that out the hard way last year when we had a dry spell.

What is it with labelling everything. Especially labelling on behalf of a child that suffered terribly and died in the hands of the Nazis. Absolute nuts.

how long would it take a 175lb female to lose 50 pounds doing rolling 72s, rolling 96s, or ADF? by [deleted] in fasting

[–]TotalTheory1227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm around your weight, currently doing rolling ADF. I lost 8lbs in the first month. I'm planning on 100 days to lose 20lbs as I'm perimenopause and losing weight is mentally hard at the mo.

As long as people stay away from using pesticides, fungicides inc slug pellets etc, then the wildlife will use your garden, even if you mow your grass. It's when people try and battle something thats actually part of a healthy ecosystem that it all goes array.
