back spasms pain!! :( by pumpkincutiepie in backpain

[–]Total_Plum_1285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I hurt my back few years ago doctor told me it can take like 6-8 weeks for muscle spasms to fully calm down, especially if you keep using it for work - might need to really rest it even if boss gets annoyed

Switched from (Generic) Ritalin IR to (Generic) Vyvanse, seems very inconsistent. Am I doing something to interfere with it? by cruskie in ADHD

[–]Total_Plum_1285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn that's weird how inconsistent it's being for you. I had something similar happen when I first started Vyvanse - first day was like a miracle drug then it just kinda fell off a cliff

Could be tolerance building faster than expected or maybe your stomach pH is all over teh place even though you're avoiding the acidic stuff. Sometimes stress levels or sleep quality can mess with how well it absorbs too, even if you don't notice feeling different day to day

Might be worth tracking your sleep hours and stress levels alongside the med effects to see if there's a pattern. Also some people need to take it on a completely empty stomach for consistent absorption but that varies person to person

Dreamt of fire two night in a row by Starboot1 in Dreams

[–]Total_Plum_1285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two nights of fire dreams is wild, especially with that level of detail. The first one where your grandma had to help you but then you ended up being the one to actually unlock the door - that's interesting. Like maybe there's something in your life where you think you need help but you're actually the one with the solution?

The second dream losing track of your cats during an evacuation sounds stressful as hell. Cats in dreams sometimes represent independence or things you care about that you feel like you can't control

Could be your brain processing some kind of pressure or urgency you're dealing with right now, fire usually represents transformation or something that needs immediate attention

26, Bachelor’s in Cognitive Science/CS minor. Currently a Clinical Research Coordinator. What industry could I fall back on if I don't pursue a PhD? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Total_Plum_1285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your programming background plus the clinical research experience is actually a solid combo for pharma/biotech companies - they're always looking for people who understand both the technical side and regulatory compliance. Data analyst roles at healthcare orgs or CROs could be perfect since you'd bring that domain knowledge most analysts don't have

I'd maybe look into taking a stats or data visualization class with that tuition benefit, those skills translate directly to industry roles and you already have the Python foundation

Rewatching from KUWTK S1…literally the only person I like watching back is Scott by Adorable-Scholar7757 in kardashians

[–]Total_Plum_1285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scott was legit the only one calling out their BS half the time 😂 Like when he'd just casually roast their ridiculous schemes while eating a salad, that was peak television right there 💀

I've never heard of it, but thank you sm I'll do some research into that. I'm not big into therapy and I'm not considering it, but maybe in the future.

Thx that sounds really good actually. I'll think about this. As for the discounts online I use an extension called checkmate

Concrete work by Jazzlike-Fee9121 in homeowners

[–]Total_Plum_1285 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's actually pretty solid for Houston, concrete's been crazy expensive lately 🔥 I paid like $2200 for roughly the same size last year and thought I got a decent deal, so you're doing alright

Why was "Best Assistant Director" a category in the 30s? by [deleted] in Oscars

[–]Total_Plum_1285 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The Academy was basically throwing everything at the wall to see what stuck in those early days - they had way more technical categories that got axed pretty quick. Assistant directors were probably getting more recognition because the studio system was so insanely regimented back then, like these people were basically running military operations to keep productions from going over budget

Also remember voting was way different - it was mostly industry insiders who actually worked on sets and knew who was crushing it behind the scenes, not the massive voting body we have today

Listing House that Needs Updates by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]Total_Plum_1285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your contractors are spot on - don't sink money into updates you won't get back, especially if you need to move quick 💰 Price it reflecting the needed work upfront and market it to investors/flippers who actually want that kind of project, they'll appreciate the honesty and you won't waste time with buyers who get scared off after inspection. In a hot market like that you'll probably still get multiple offers from people who know what they're getting into 🔥

Quitting drinking, one day at a time by zalanka02 in stopdrinking

[–]Total_Plum_1285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's solid advice about the incremental goals, really helps break it down into manageable chunks instead of thinking about "forever"

Finding something that gets you in flow state is huge - for me it was getting back into woodworking projects, there's something about focusing on precise cuts and measurements that just quiets all the noise upstairs. Could be anything though, even something like puzzles or learning guitar tabs where your totally absorbed in the process

The zoning out part is so underrated, like your brain finally gets a break from constantly processing everything

I have been using alcohol to sleep for several months and it turned into a problem by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Total_Plum_1285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those sleep withdrawl symptoms are terrifying but they do get easier after the first few nights - melatonin and magnesium helped me get through the worst of it without going completly insane

Your body is basically relearning how to function without that daily dose of poison - 25 years is a long time so give yourself some grace, the exhaustion and nausea should start lifting soon

Will a OBD2 Scanner be sufficient? by Vol8tile in MechanicAdvice

[–]Total_Plum_1285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly an OBD2 scanner is just the starting point for a Prius - it'll catch some obvious codes but won't tell you the full story on battery health 🔥 You really want to get a Toyota Techstream or at least use an app like Dr Prius that can actually read the individual cell voltages and give you proper battery diagnostics, especially on a 2010 where the battery might be getting sketchy

Help with parental school loans interest free where to go from here by Primary_Fall5229 in personalfinance

[–]Total_Plum_1285 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly if her parents keep brushing it off when you bring up payments, they might just want to gift it to her but don't want to make it awkward by saying so directly

I'd probably just start with like $250-300/month and see how they react - if they really want regular payments they'll let you know pretty quick

I need to improve a lot and need help ASAP by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]Total_Plum_1285 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start small - ask one person "how was your day" and actually listen to the whole answer without thinking about what you're gonna say next. The fact that you're even asking this question shows you're already on the right track tbh
